I've long ago concluded that it is pointless to try to keep my private data out of the hands of big tech. So I've just picked a team. My team is Google. They get to follow my every move, know me better than I know myself and sell that knowledge to the highest bidder, while the rest gets as close to absolutely nothing as possible.
This is how I stopped worrying, and learned to love Google.

L doesn't mention in the browser bit about Safari. But straight criticizes the search bit of it. Next, photo backup. He powers the 3rd party softwares, focusing on device generated information. Guess what? iCloud does just that again.
Mail? Completely avoids mentioning that iCloud mail provides "generated" addresses.
I am sorry, but the Apple hate from this channel is crazy. I am not saying Apple is perfect in any way and they do grab money, but make a fair video. Leave your hate behind and provide users the right information.

I can't believe Firefox has tumbled down to 2% market share ☹
That means they wont have much support for long if this is their bottom peak. I started using Firefox in 2006. At one point they were over 30% use share for browsers.
i am a "brave" guy……it so easy to be be "brave"….and it is "Brave"ly helpful to easily de-google…..trust me guys brave is a huge underrated product, a product that needs to be in every pc and mobile

DuckDuckGo shares data with Microsoft, it's really not private at all. Similar situation with a browser like Brave. Think yall needed to do a bit more in-depth research for this one.

And I actually started down the path. My browser was already firefox with ublock. but I switched to Duckduckgo. (I already knew about the duck, but just didnt switch.) I feel no difference in my searches yet. It seems google just doesnt have the lead anymore in search.
Already made a proton account. Completely switching in every place will take time, but its a step.
Some places will still require me to use gmail, but that will be that.
Ecosia does have "bangs", they're hashtags! E.g. #g to search with Google

I found out about Immich 2 months ago. As a test, I set it up on a Raspberry Pi with OpenVPN to connect remotely. I didn't upload too many images and videos, but it seemed pretty good to me. It's certainly something I plan to migrate my Google Photos over to sooner than later. My biggest worry is data loss, but I'll figure that out.
If google is wondering why customers are trying to keave the google ecosystem: dont be evil. Its that simple
Not gonna lie, Brave search's AI features are not really a selling point. The rest of this is good though
I hope there is a part 3 where they cover operating systems. GrapheneOS has been a great replacement for stock android.

Opera GX for me. Haven't used Chrome in well over 10 years. Google totally destroyed that browser.
Proton is legit and worth every penny.
Firefox just sucks so much. I will try one of the other options. On my Apple devices, I'll stay Safari. Yes I trust Apple more than Google. On Windows ill try a new one
Brave search works so well. I was dubious of the AI at first but it actually does a decent job most of the time. Meaning it still does have hiccups but nothing as ridiculous as the one Google has tried. Not only that but it provides it sources in a way that while it give you a summary you can easily click the source to read more to go more in-depth.
StartPage is the "easy" way to still have google search engine without the tracking etc.
I just transferred all my passwords, bookmarks from chrome just today.

Apart from YouTube and Gmail, I’ve been making these changes for a few years. Never had any problems with Firefox. Since the quantum update it’s super quick even with crazy amount of tabs
