AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series CPUs were a major leap for gamers and content creators alike, and now they’ve just announced Ryzen 9000… Will it be enough to send Intel to the bargain bin?

4:20 – While the slide shown isn't what we intended, it still makes our point. We're still at the 16 core mark and basically nothing has changed spec-wise with Ryzen 9000 since Ryzen 7000.
These amd chips will compete intel arrowlake and not raptorlake. So this whole comparison is false.
3900x to a 5900xt i'm keen
Hey Linus/ LTT team since we are on the topic of the new AMD CPU would yall recommend someone that is currently buying parts/ building their dream PC to get the 7800x3d now if they have a x670e motherboard or wait till the new 9000 series CPU and X870E motherboard comes out? Or would X670E motherboard still work with the 9000 series CPU?
P.S. been trying to find the right time to ask this really hoping to get a reply so I can keep on proceeding with the build. Also love the crew and keep the videos coming
Never seen this guy out in nature.
Those lower back cushions sounded tough on the small drop on the slide! Linus hitting the gym
Me: "Oh sweet the new processors come out on my birthmonth!"
Linus: mentions X3D
Me: "…Damn it I gotta wait for those, if they do come out."
i mean in terms of desktop cpu maybe nvidia gets beat BUT all AI training compute chips are made by nvidia. amd doesnt have a share in that markey.
specifically for gamers, regardless of how well the next gen am5 cpus perform, it's likely the better value just to get a 7800x3d. AMD has already commited to AM5 till 2027, so whatevers upcoming isn't the end of the line for AM5 anyways. Get the gen 1 AM5 X3D chip and consider the Gen 3, or even Gen 4 X3D chip down the line, as gen 2 is probably going to be an easy skip.
Surely they give the 9800x3d more L3 cache than its predecessor, MORRRREEEEEEEE.
The the video transitions! very well done on that part!!
AMD is though Kaby Laking with lower core counts than intel per tier
If only the segues to your sponsors were as smooth as the transition at 7:15
I still can't believe that after all those families there is no AMD processor AND compatible motherboard which reliably support ECC RAM. I don't lie and tell me there is. OR if there is than it's some chip that's runs about as hot most of the time as its Intel counterpart-and yes, climate change does matter, whether or not you're a gamer.
AMD is eating up Intel Gaming customers by buying ATI Radeon and do not forget the AMD ryzen 5 (4600G) is eating up Intel customers whose first graphic cards are 4000 series Geforce graphic cards like titanium 4200,4400 and 4600 who PCB board are red ♥️ like ATI Radeon pair with intel Pentium 4. Intel launch counter missile Intel Arc A380 graphic card like Airbus A380 but Intel is foolish and not clever that idea is copy from Nvidia GTX 460 or GTX 660 boxes printed with fighter jet, instead of copying from Nvidia , Intel must go back to its own power and use its most successful Intel G41 express chipset the last integrated graphic chip on the motherboard and it is call EAGLE LAKE. Intel Eagle lake graphic card and show the box a Great eagle drinking by the lake.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I understand that AMDs upcoming products are going to be good but everyone is getting hyped up about Zen 5 when comparing to Meteor Lake and Emerald Rapids. Intels Lunar Lake is looking really good and I have a feeling Arrow Lake will be promising as well. Plus did anyone look at the reviews of Sierra Forest, it is really impressive how much of a jump they did in efficiency and performance for a E core chip. Intel 3 is looking great for data centers and most likely Granite will be a huge increase when it comes out later this year. So I Think Linus is getting his wish of Intel stepping up their game again to keep pricing and innovation alive.
If you are on Intel, just please do not go with AMD watching this guy. I got AMD system watching Linus and guess what it is terrible in booting 10-15 secs just to get to Bios. Then most CPUs don't have integrated GPU which might not sound big thing but you can't get a single pixel of text like bios without integrated GPU. Not highlighting these basic needs while comparing is very misleading on LTT's end. Open consumer fraud IMHO.
Ehh intels roadmap got me more excited.. end of 2025 it starts getting good
Well, till intel does not apply the know how in chip manufacturing that looks just like it would have came from TSMC, (they are working on it) they have no chance competing on speed and economy, only on mass. About closing the gap between AMD and NVIDIA: I am pretty sure they had a talk about it on family reunions. But how it looks like is AMD will stay mainly at cpu's and Nvidia at gpu's. And they shared the capacity of TSMC between each other.
