  2. felicity smoke is a menace to computers everywhere, she has this magical power of making computer things happen while speaking complete giberish

  3. One of my favorite series I’ve ever seen on LTT…. More please!

  4. You only got weird questions from movie buffs.
My friend is a huge car nerd, he can positively identify 1955 Cadillac Eldorado from a snippet of its front left bumper.
However, he also believed that a car's airbag trigger is the headlight, because a TV series or movies have the protagonist tell him that. The guy shoots an escaping bad guy's headlight, bang! and the airbag deploys, the bad guy lost control then crashed. Even hobbyists gets it wrong too… because he is such a massive movie buff and studied in the land of celebrity & entertainment industry worship.
Basically the kind of folks who subscribe to Audrey Hepburn's wisdom, "Everything I learn, I learned from movies." – I also have that airheaded friend who posted this on her social media account.
ECU for ICE cars are usually not the kind that you can "update over the air" like Tesla, which is an electric motor car. It is a standalone system that usually accessed through OBD port that reads its parameters. Maybe it is a custom ECU that allows wireless telemetry or something like Formula 1 cars that allows pit crew engineers to continuously update and optimise the engine settings on the go. It may or may not transmit position (e.g. signal triangulation method).

Any otherwise, the entertainment industry is slowly improving. Gun mechanism is getting more realistic, planes too – Top Gun's latest movie F-14 uses all sorts of realistic RWR alarm sounds. They got to, since video games are overtaking them by far in terms of realism and authenticity.

  5. MR.ROBOT please

  6. Only MMORPG I'm aware of that has a high score system is MapleStory, albeit I haven't actually played any other games outside of it besides LaTale. Their ranking system is public on their website, all my dead accounts are pretty low.

  7. Can we have a video about why multi monitor windows setups still can't wake up and put windows back on the right monitors

  8. All of NTSF:SD:SUV:: is a parody, it literally stands for National Terrorism Strike Force: San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle

  9. you knov what alsow works like that this right arowkey (procedec to spam the right arowkey)

  10. ENHANCE PANTS VECTOR

  11. I prefer the computery things from Criminal minds more. It isnt perfect but beter than autosave guy

  12. It'd be interesting to hear more about forensic IT stuff

  13. In Fubar (new Netflix version) overclocking the CPU makes the computers clock run faster…

  14. I thought the thumbnail was for a Corrider VFX react video 🤣🤣

  15. Okay hear me out. Back in the AOL days small businesses and government entities didn’t know better and would put everything on an individual public IP. So a jail with 7 public IPs maybe. If the engineer had no idea what they were doing and faked it till they made it.

  16. I always asked myself if this works as a storytelling device. To me, it alienates whoever actually understands this shit and the audience that does not understand this won't find this impressive beyond "oh, they managed to do whatever they were doing, great".

Film makers act as if doing this is the equivalent of an action scene to the audience. If they can't understand what the hell you are talking about, it won't work.

  17. For a change of pace I recommend checking out how to sell drugs online fast. Real tech, no bs. Some of those interfaces are finished impressively quickly, but hey

  18. I want to see them react to Episode 15 of Extraordinary Attorney Woo, honestly, I think they did a really good job accurately setting up a hacking situation, especially considering this is a kdrama about a lawyer and not about tech.

Edit: Actually now that I think about it, the attack vector the hackers in the show used is the same one that got LTT a while.

  19. love this series

  20. Old School RuneScape has high score leaderboards still to this day.

  21. Aight episode 3

  22. "it is not that strange, I have 7 computers" Please, someone give Linus a reality check. 😀

  23. ok I want one more video laugh for real

  24. 11:08 Love the Lewis Black reference.

  25. I'm not familiar with Wendel's videos, I suspect pulling that face is 'his thing' but in the context of 'we found him in the hotel hallway' it looks like he's been kidnapped and making a plea for help.

  26. these were actually painful. I died a little bit inside.

  27. Here is the frustrating part though… I have had people want something done and when I say it is not possible. the response is always like. well why can they do it on this or that.. im like because it is a movie? lol

  28. So when are they going to look at Mr. Robot?

  29. Can you really zoom a picture that much more on an Android phone vs an iPhone? I mean, there's also a limit on my S23 🤔

  30. I will die on the hill that red dwarf had the best zoom & enhance scene. they zoomed from a water droplet reflection to get the reflection off the window behind the image, & then uncropped the image. just to see what was behind the photographer. may have the exact order wrong, but that was the gist of the scene

  31. Enhance

  32. "Tech experts"
    Alright there corridor crew. 🙄

  33. my lasting memory of CSI was when they were tracing an IPv4 address and the octets had 4 digits and others that went above 255
    Edit: 9:30 😆yes this scene.

  34. The lady who used a hammer to get the hard drive and opened it up @15:28 is the real life version of Panam from Cyberpunk 2077, Tristin Mays

  35. Out of all the BS shows like this do, I think the one that made me annoyed the most for some reason was from CSI: Miami iirc. They had a thumb drive they needed to read but instead of just plugging it into the computer, or the monitor, or even a dedicated USB hub, they had this massive block built out of acrylic and LEDs sitting on the desk with just a single USB port on top of it. Why? It must have taken a not insignificant amount of time to make it, and it just looked dumb

  36. My dad is a doctor and has the same issues with medical dramas. Turns out writers know writing, not whatever specific domain they might be writing about.

  37. Not that I'm trying to defend some of the shows AT ALL, but powerline networking is a thing with specific equipment. Sorta surprised they didn't mention it, but… admittedly there was a lot of other mess to react to. 😂

  38. Would love to see you react to all the hacking done in sense8

  39. If you wanted to rapidly throw together a UI in 2004 VB would be a perfectly valid tool. Time-wise not many things would be as fast and simple at that time. Sure it wouldn't be secure, robust or scalable but it would probably be up and working quicker than any other option. You don't need multithreading, strong typing or OO overheads to create a form with some buttons and outputs tied to an external application or process. There's good reason MS were still shipping core VB6 libraries 20+ years after it went EOL and over a decade after this show aired.

  40. "Can you rotate us 75 degrees around the vertical?"
Strangely, the guy always interprets 75 degrees as 180.
