  1. Wait… A early example of a OLED display made by Sony with the resolution of 960×540(half of full hd)…. Isn't this exactly the same specs(save the size) of the PSVita's display?

  2. OG Techmoan fans will remember this one.

  3. I clicked because Linus pointed up with his index finger

  4. Just proves technology hasnt gone that much from 2008, hey my main tv is 10 years old and still works great.

  5. I remember seeing this in Austria's MediaMarkt when it came out :O

  6. Just reminds us that OLED tech has barely moved forward, hopefully micro-LED overthrows.

  7. Actually like that music video player idea. I suppose they would also be useful for other things, but they would be optimized as portable devices that easily pair with your phone so you can just set it down anywhere and play video with it.

  8. It's funny, this little tv is being used, since around 2009, by the most watched brazilian tv newscast "Jornal Nacional". It is used as a Pc monitor on the desk in front of the anchors.

  9. I saw this on display at Bic camera, was amazing. plasma was all the rage then though

  10. Video request: Please any way on how can we upgrade laptop speakers to match Macbook.

  11. Almost The same res as ps vita OLED, coincidence

  12. Qs about LTTStore:
    1. Where can one signup for scribedriver notifications? Can't find it on there
    2. Where are the reviews? Can't find any on popular Stuff like the Screwdriver. Wanted to really read them on the 3D Down Jacket

  13. You should give a credit to the design is so good imagine it as 40" inch more is so beautiful

  14. Can you build a pc but instead of having a budget, every part must cost the same budget, ex budget is 100 so the gpu needs to be 100 dollars but also does the fans for the case. You get it you're a smart guy

  15. Wery interesting..OLED from 2008 and there have No burning 😁 How to explan this?

  16. Kind of makes sense then why the Vita Screen was so increadibly good and still holds up.

  17. I remember this thing being announced, abd the weirdest thing is thst it felt like it was several year after it actually got released! Always wanted one but never had enough money 😂

  18. This was whopping $10.000 back in the days

  19. Youtube ads, sponser read, LTT store ad read, another LTT store ad read, sponser read, more Youtube ads.

  20. I bought a Sony walkman back then, with an OLED screen. While it was smaller than my phone, the brightness and color made it a better option for watching movies. Side note: HD OLED TV's were on the brink of becoming popular as many manufacturers had the tech laying around except Samsung. So they hyped 4K not by making the pixels smaller, but by making the TV's larger. And a lot of people fell for it. The fewing experience of only HD OLED vs 4K would have been much better as a lot of content wasn't available in 4K.

  21. In my opinion, can you use a smaller aperture when displaying product comparisons so that you don't look for too much focus between Linus and iPad or monitor being held? Like this scene at 5:44

  22. Michael Scott vibes with this monitor 🤣🤣

  23. Bruh stop plugging in your shit, we dont care. Just keep the sponsor spot and continue on.

  24. I clicked because Linus was on the left

  25. "Reverse burn in" burn out?

  26. I remember when that first came out and almost bought it too.

  27. Disliked the video because of the mid video ads 🤢

  28. I remember when we from the professional and broadcast side of Sony were briefed on that exact TV and technology. The opinion at the time was that the end result is great, but the natural deterioration of the organic component of the OLED (?) made larger screens impractical/impossible. Sony hit a wall in its R&D and apparently the larger screen were failing noticeably after 6 months. They did persevere for a while though, but ultimately abandoned OLED. They were quite dismissive internally of LG picking up the tech, and the attitude was more along the lines "we dodged a bullet, watch LG losing money on this". To be fair this was happening when Sony was already considering bowing out of the screen manufacturing business and sold off a lot of its tech to Samsung and LG. Forward a few years later and they became one of the main promoter of OLED in the pro space (using panels from LG).

  29. Love using HTTYD as a test film! Both a great film and good to see something closer to what the display was designed to show.
