I don't see the point in not spreading the thermal compound with a spatula though. Wouldn't it be logical if spread is an issue to manually do it yourself? That is the way I do it and it drives me nuts to see that no matter the application there are often dead spots left behind.

So on one side you have a 25 million dollar company that's been working specifically on PC cooling solutions for two decades and does direct partnerships with component makers.
And on the other side you have a guy in his basement. And he matches them. For barely any more cost per tube.
Gotta give 'em credit since it's basically one man versus an entire corporation, and this is their first time doing any of this.
The real test would be after a year or two. In new paste wouldn't work it would be pretty bad.
Now that you guys have Labs, you should definitely test again.

Some other "techreviewer" claims it would be that good especially even more for GPU's.
He seems kinda sus though, since he is featured on the site and he does not include thermal conductivity at all.

a difference of 1 degree might seem small between Tech ingred. and noct. but in some tests 1 degree F is litterally the difference between noct. and tooth paste lol… insane.
