As a gamer i would never use a keyboard that isn't 100%. Other size keyboards tend to be the same price or more expensive in my experience
Yeah I can't even make it through the first 60 second of this dumb video …
This is rather unfortunate i don't like linear switches. Will stay with my tactile asus azoth because i need to work on it as well
The best hall effect keyboard with rapid trigger AND wireless 2,4ghz low latency (also has bluetooth) connectivity is the Keychron Q1 HE. I've got it and it's unlike anything I've ever used. Their support confirmed they are also working on an SOCD feature firmware update. Reviewers claim it's built better and types nicer than the wooting.
One thing about the layout. For gaming a 65% layout is useless, because it takes up the same space horizontally as 75% layout while 75% has F keys and this allow You to use "tilda" key as a usefull and easy to hit keybind in game. And of course You have F1-F12 keys.
fullsize all the way
" open up ur third eye "
please stay away from mine I don't consent
I game on a 100% board. I need the numpad for work. I'm not going to clutter up my workspace with an extra dedicated gaming keyboard. Seems silly.
Knobs are goated, but not as goated as the wooting 60he. I use a 60he modded so it sounds and looks nice
Most tldr is, you don't have money to buy Wooting? Save up and buy Wooting. You have more money and wanna buy something else that's not Wooting, you buy Wooting.
I use arrow keys for movement and the number pad for weapon switches. And I prefer to use control to jump, with my pinky. None that thumb-plonking in the space bar. Full sized is the way to fit me.
I got a Monsgeek M1-HES and I think I'm done.
I think we need a new 'category' of keyboard. The majority of this video only makes any sense if you equate all of 'gaming' to just 'esports'. Personally I barely care at all about key responsiveness for the games I play and I use the media, macro and numpad keys literally every single day.
I'm about to throw down for the Keychron K2 HE
Still sitting on my Steelseries 6gv2 for like 10 years. How bad am I?
Just buy wooting if you do not want to watch the full video
i just ordered the Q1 HE. now i just have to pay off the mortgage i took out to afford it!
Is there any specific reason why you don’t recommend the g60 for drunk deer I was planning on getting the 60%
What's that thing on the t key at 9:11
can i ask why dont you recommend 100% keyboards? Like i dont see anything wrong using it (yes i play copmetetive games a lot). The only reason i can think of is that it takes chunk of your mouse space, but i have the keyboard tilted the way it doesnt bother me anyway
I work in finance, I use a 75%. The thought of having a numpad would break me.
You can take my numpad over my cold dead body 😡
Can you reveiw the Boyi 66 Pro? Its a budget rapid trigger keyboard costing only $65 dollars! It sounds amazing stock and it has decent software. The only concern I have is the performence which idk how to measure.
Polar65 is very good as well btw if you don't have money for a custom Wooting. It's probably the best built and sounding stock keyboard.
You started the video by saying don't buy a full size keyboard, but for what reason? I like my huntsman v3 pro full size, what's wrong with full size keyboards?
i doubt you are a real gamer if you only use a 60% or your games are very cheap
I've already buy a wooting 60he+
playing counter strike
There's a hall effect pcb for TKLs if you custom keeb-savy people out there are interested in modding an existing custom tkl that is compatible. It's on geonworks called the venom HE tkl pcb. Kinda costly but if you can get it to work then you'll have a rapid trigger experience in a case you own and want to keep.
It's a shame that wooting decided to go for the 'weird and proprietary' PCB approach for their """80%""" keyboard.
I got a reply on Twitter from them when they released it about how they "discovered" the "H87" (a popular standard TKL PCB) "much later in the process".
Which is a wild thing to say because the TKL format in general has been a thing since before they existed as a company.
Luckily there are other companies out there producing Hall Effect boards with more standard form factors. For custom keyboard enthusiasts out there, I think Geonworks is developing some HE custom PCBs, so it'll be available for that market too at some point.
Though personally I don't think rapid trigger is absolutely essential for gaming.
For esports, it's Wooting or nothing.
Review the Attack Shark K85, really curious how it compares to the A75 which I have. The K85 is like 60 USD on AliExpress
Numpads is for cs players with elaborate buy binds
I got 70% a mech keyboard years ago before it was cool and checked out of the keyboard market. I had no idea this kind of tech existed till Razer dropped cheating software.
what about dark project kd87a? i mostly play games but i will also use it for work so i want to ask if its a good choice
If you buy anything labeled as "gaming" you get what you deserve.
Full size keyboards are fine, numpads are good for logging in with passwords and for entering numbers. Pretty much if you are an adult get a full size
I had a Steelsires and the software was indeed terrible.
i have a full keyboard from red dragon
i like that its a full keyboard cuz its good for modded minecraft cuz more buttons
also its howswapable so i managed to change its switched abd it can be desassambled cuz i can see 2 screws in the 2 up corners
Never use anything with web-only software, or software that requires Internet connection. You are only renting that kind of product.
ive had a lot of problems with the steelseries apex pro tkl, would not recomend it personally
Just buy wooting 60HE lol
I sadly skipped the 60 but I do have a pre order on the 80he. 🎉
I just ordered the Drunkdeer 75 a few days before this video, I am super excited. They even added the new snap tap feature on it like the wooting and razer keyboard.
Are MageGee and Attack Shark good for keyboards?
So Wooting over Keychron for the software? I might still go with Keychron then cause their software is new and should be upgraded soon enough?
