  1. Reminder: If you import passwords from one manager to another, make sure you delete the files you exported, as they are NOT secure.

  2. I cant stand to watch linu's hair anymore, somone needs create a filter so linus doesn't look like a clown.

  3. I was sitting here looking at a google assistant screen thinking it was part of the video… turns out your video had activated my android google assistant which is not even set up yet… 😅

  4. transister count… nice

  5. NEW BLOND ?!

  6. The absolute easiest way to watch YouTube without ads, and have feathers like YouTube premium is through brave browser in both windows and android, like i do right now 😁

  7. wtf have you done to your hair?

  8. Opera GX is far superior to chrome tbh.

  9. I have never seen anyone complain about seeing too many billboards, but why are we all complaining about Google and their Ads empire. Thats their business model and how else can they fund all the cool innovations they've brought us including but not limited to LLMs and web services.

  10. Talk about unbound please! I know it is a bit more complicated but so far it is absolutely the best DNS solution to completely free yourself of reliance on external providers. It also works with pihole really well. It is a little more complicated to get started for most people but once it is set up then you can pretty much forget about it. pair that with Tailscale and you have a bullet proof vpn tunneled solution in place for dns everywhere you go.

Something else that would be a cool mention is using a open source firmware router for the base of your network such as opnsense, Pfsense or a consumer router that has been flashed with fresh tomato. OpenWRT is a good option too but I feel like the UX is quite clunky and old in comparison.

    Other services I highly recommend:
Stirling PDF – great tool for pdf management.
Open Web-UI – Fully featured ChatGPT alternative with some neat extra tricks.
Navidrome – Music Streaming Subsonic Server.
Forgejo – Self hosted Github alt.

(A video on Git/Version management would be cool too. It is useful for a lot more than just code. You can use it for tracking progress and making branching versions of notes, documents, music, video files. Literally anything that exists as a file. It is intimidating initially but it is very simple and overpowered for implementation once you understand the basic concepts.)

  11. Next Video Suggestions: MicroG instead of GMS. Aurora Store, F-Droid, etc instead of Play Store.
Also, what is the alternate to Android?

  12. That was a lot of info. Too bad I'm lazier than the size of my Google hate.

  13. PIA is Israeli intelligence.

  14. 10:48 Just to expand – at rest encryption can be deceptive in most cloud providers and is not to be conflated with end-to-end encryption. OneDrive, for example, as per their own documentation have the master encryption keys stored in an Azure Key Vault. Dropbox do not disclose their exact key storage practices, but it's reasonable to assume it's similar. While access policies to the encryption key may be secure and reasonable, the point is you're not in control of the encryption key and, as a result, the service provider or a data breach into the key storage areas could allow access even if your password is not compromised. This is different from end-to-end encryption where there's no way the cloud provider could gain access to your data unless you provide them with your key. CryFS is a good alternative to Cryptomator that works with any cloud storage provider and encrypts your files (and metadata + directory structure) while too keeping you in control of your encryption key.

  15. I'm not entirely happy with my Googled version of Android. I'm aware of GrapheneOS, but never tried it. How hard is it to switch, and what other options are there?
I've also heard of PeerTube, but don't know how to start using it.

I've used MEGA for cloud storage for a while. It's a New Zealand based company that prioritizes security.

  16. I like Nordlocker

  17. Where is part 1? Did it get shadow rewalmed?

  18. I'm curious, will you also delete YouTube? Or is the money too sweet?

  19. Watching youtube while using brave, no adds at all

  20. 14:04 im using YouTube revanced

  21. I wouldn’t dare to cheat a paywall as annoying as they are, I just avoid those sites.

  22. Just downloaded brave. not seeing any ads on youtube.

  23. For an ad free YouTube with custom options just look for revanced extended YouTube, but you still give data as you are logged on your Google account like with the normal app. Otherwise libretube and basically other YouTube scrapper apps are good

  24. Just today, Ente Auth got updated and now allows you to set a separate pin to lock it! 😄

  25. Nextcloud is working great for me, sync thing lets me sync my files between devices without a subscription. The truenas news is great

  26. having a yubikey 5C NFC is really good for TOTP authenticator codes too
long as you just have backup too

  27. There was a password manager that encrypted every password with a separate private key. Technically it was likely the most secure password manager using a crypto hardware wallet. It was called TrezorPassworManager but it was deprecated this year thanks to google's manifest V3 in chrome.

  28. To get an add-free experience on youtube I'm using a script with the browser extension Tampermonkey called "youtube-adb". Works like a charm, any browser supports it and google doesn't detect it as an add-blocker. 🙂 I can highly recommend it!

  29. how to change the OS and the apps that require google play services from any android and not just the top one's ?

  30. How to degoogle your life?

    Step1: Delete your google account.

  31. I switched to Brave as brower and it works perfectly to block YoutTube adds. I just wish there was a Brave App for the Amazon FireTV. yes you can download and install it, but it is horrible to use as the input via remote is not supported.

  32. &udm=14 is a browser that lets you get normal google results without the AI and most ads. It’s something I just barely learned about and I’m very keen to look into. Perhaps that might be something to check out.

  33. Revanced where ?

  34. whats with the orange hair, you getting grey or what!

  35. Where to store your recovery codes other than that of password manager or paper?

  36. What is it about fame that makes youtubers do weird things with their hair?

  37. People who use google password manager exist?

  38. I use Aegis for 2FA. Local backups that you sync to whatever cloud service of your choise. Easy to manually sync to all your devices so if one device get lost, will not lose all access to all the sites. Google auth had a big issue, if you lose google access, you can not access google auth anymore and now lost all 2FA access on all the sites you used it on.

  39. Didn't get any ads on this video 😊

  40. fyi proton wallet isnt secure and is mainly for btc users

  41. If someone gets into my google account then i fucked up at some point

  42. when xQc doing tech tips
