Sony has officially revealed the Playstation 5 Pro, and it’s EXPENSIVE. You could buy a used PS5 and a Steam Deck, or a WHOLE FREAKING GAMING PC for the same budget! While the exclusive games might be good, it’s hard to swallow the unexpectedly high price when the upgrade feels so… expected.

You forgot to mention that it costs equivalent of 914 dollars in Uk, and is 800 euros in eu, oh and by the way its 120000 yens!!!! Japanese gamers have to spend equivalent to 840 USD on a ps5!!

The ps3 had a blue ray disk reader which costed a fuck ton back then which is why the price was so high. The shit they are selling today doesnt even have a fucking stand or a disk reader. $700 is high but 800€ and even 700£ is criminal. The ps4 pro was "30% faster" and could barely deliver on their 4k promise. They don't give a shit

Adjusting for inflation, yes its not the most expensive, but people wages havent risen with inflation for the last few years

800€ right now is 881$, so its 180$ more expensive, for what reason???
Probably because most people upgrading already have a PS5 and the games they want so Sony cannot makeup the money through games sales like they would with a regular new gen console. Sony tripled down on the ugly design and PC gaming is just better this time round with exclusives not having the appeal they used to have so the only console I've gotten is the Switch.

I get the anger but I expected it. Semiconductor and component prices have increased at least 20% since the PS5 was made. Also remember the PS1 was $299 at launch in 1995. Adjusting that with the inflation today would be roughly $611.
Sony was selling at a loss with the base PS5 to hopefully get more customers to buy PS Plus and Digital transactions. And right now, they can't do that, especially after what happened with Concord and they do need to meet profit margins and appease shareholders. It sucks but that is the world we live in.
