Damn Linus has the old blue hd600 headphones. Best looking version of the hd580 jubilee/600/650/58x/6xx
Why does he keep calling it Arch By The Way? I use Arch on a daily basis and just call it "Arch"
I love github lol.
Am I the only one who noticed a hair slowly falling down in front of the monitor at 2:05?
Why didn't he just click the file, view raw and copy and paste? Or clone the repo and just run the file?
At least you stopped schilling for vpns, promoting a useless software like glasswire can be forgiven
Linus cant use linux
5:52 …aaand I'll call that sentence a conclusion of this series
The thing you have to remember is Linux is developed by individual developers, not some giant corporation building an OS over many years. You shouldn't expect the same experience as you get from a proprietary software that has been developed for decades. Surprise though, your own OS doesn't literally spy on you and send data of everything you do to a big corporation so they can profit from invading your privacy like Windows does. With security and privacy there is a convenience line. The more convenience the less security and privacy. The more security and privacy, the less convenience. Everyone has to pick where they stop on that line. Personally, the switch to Linux a month ago has been fairly painless using Linux Mint and after a week I was ready to never go back to Windows. For others that may not be the case as we all use our computers differently and for different purposes and Linux does some of them well and doesn't do others well. But I could say the same about Windows or any other OS. Also, you shouldn't expect everything to work like it does in Windows as it is a completely different OS, just like IOS and Android are different. You have to learn how things work and the more you understand simple things like the file system and app repositories for software, the easier it is. You have spent many, many years 'learning' lots of things in Windows that you take for granted now as if you never previously struggled to learn them and now expect Linux to act similar, which is unreasonable. Anyway, yes, switching to Linux has been extremely easy for me as a Windows user and you with your specialized audio and streaming equipment and such, of course, will have additional issues.
Dude, you're totally wrong about extensions; UNIX/Linux recognizes files by content, not extension. Having extensions not shown and faked icons on executables is like #1 Windows problem in getting a virus. You download a random text file off Internet, why should it be executable?
You'll have the same issue on MacOS if you try to run someone's hobby project off GitHub, and sadly all those reverse-engineered utilities for hardware support are hobby projects; they make it into distro packages waay too late. There's just too much crappy hardware out there with vendors not caring about industry standards or Linux support.
It was one year ago, now everything is fine,
The function of canary discord is obvious, you send it down into the operating system first, if it suffocates then you made a mistake and regular discord won't work
you are using github COMPLETELY wrong
13:15 Bruh, after finally trying out Gamepass, this comment aged like urine.
UWP is the worst piece of garbage I've ever seen on a PC. If you've ever had to try and recover your saves (like transferring them to Steam), you'll know what I'm talking about. It's BEYOND atrocious. A horrific plague to the platform. I'd take Vista any day over UWP garbage, or Windows 11.
Windows users unable to follow instructions…
this is the most awesome movie about Linux, love it.
You continue, despite many warnings, to use Linux as it were Windows, trying to run Windows software on it and complaining it doesn't work. Surprise surprise: It is NOT supposed to work: the architecture is different, the API is different, even the binary format is different. And why on hell would you expect that a package manager for one system is present on another system? Why you don't put the disk of your PS4 game in the PC and then complain that it doesn't run? I don't understand how someone so tech-ignorant that needs instructions to run a script ("there was no instructions on how to run a script" …. seriously???? Like searching for the recipe of a cake and complaining there are no instructions on how to scramble the eggs) can put "Tech" in his name. Keep Windows / Mac or whatever you are using and leave alone this system: it's simply not for you.
An important thing to note is that if more people started using linux, the hardware/software manufacturers would take more notice and get to work improving or even just creating ways to use their stuff on linux. If you're not a hardcore gamer, you should try linux.
This is always fun to watch. For Limux users:)
So if Linus uses MacOS and tries to run an .exe file, it should say "hey, I see you're trying to run a Windows file"? You went full retard.
No no no! Linux people would be horrified at your antics boy. You have to realign your phuffer valves and THEN calibrate them. And as everyone knows it helps to pat your cat while calibrating your phuffer valves because they are sympathetic and sensitive to the cats purring. And once done, unplug the computer and throw it in the dumpster. Then look at your cat sternly and say "This is all your fault you #@$%^&!* FLUFF BAG!".
And then try another distro! Or even better, get a new #@$%^&!* cat.
i wish this challenge had included someone who wasn't a streamer. i started using Linux right after and partially because of this challenge and i didn't have evan half the issues you guys did since all i do gaming wise is play single player games. not streaming your games doesn't mean you aren't gaming.
