I’m still rocking a Ryzen 7 5800X with a 3080. I’m going to wait until spring time to upgrade to AM5 with the 5090 depending on the price
Got the X870e Nova, 9800X3D and more waiting for the RTX 5080
We are now in a sad reality where Upscaling/"DLSS" and "FrameGen" are recommended on video game spec sheets. Until AMD step up their upscaling tech, I don't see myself ever picking an AMD GPU.

I think even if you're playing on a 4070 you could still make use of a 9800x3D depending on what you play.
Like I play a lot of Civilization 6, Stellaris & BG3, all of which could benefit from a better CPU for me. I have a 4070 Super, but looking ahead at Civilization 7's recommended best specs, I would either need a 12+ core CPU or something that's at least better than the 7600x that I currently have.
