I didn't like how that video worded itself as if these channels were either currently working with Honey or in LTT's case working with Karma.
12:27 what do you mean? literally how? your company is, to this day, the third internet biggest promoter of Honey, yes you dropped it, and yes there was one youtuber that got hundreds of dislikes that catched on to their practices, but making it public, or making it a bigger deal, was something that people would have expected out of you, further more, the claim made in this podcast that you didn't know how could this affect other content creators is, if true, a really big oversight, like a giant one, also, what do you mean you shared it publicly? you responded to someone on your own forum, that's hardly publicly, i get it, we know you guys lost money from Honey, probably the most money every one single content creator lost out of the deal, but most of what it is said in this podcast about it, sounds like very shallow excuses and nothing more.

This just proves that internet personalities, just like your run of the mill mainstream media slop celebs, will promote garbage to their viewers without even really knowing about the product. They have nothing too much to say about this subject because it makes them look stupid. They promoted a product they knew nothing about, a product that not only scammed the end users, the businesses involved, but also themselves. And its complete BS comparing LTT to MrBeast. He may be the bigger channel, but LTT, TECH TIPS, clue is in the name.. This is falling within LTTs field of operations. So, you skipped over this subject… this again either reaffirms incompetence, or worse.

So gonna clear up some confusion on everyone's end since I'm reading a lot of conflicting and contradicting statements in both the WAN show and the comment section being made
(12:25) Linus questions why there was such a focus on LTT when they weren't the only people who knew about the honey commission scandal:
ML put an emphasis on LTT because while it's true that other smaller creators and people without a platform knew about this in the background, LTT was one of the biggest partners with the biggest platform who should have brought this up with everyone since it affects the creator community as a whole due to the amount of sponsorships honey was pushing out. Linus tries to use a video that came out a few years ago with 26k views to try and prove his point but it just shows the difference in platform reach
(12:55) Linus says that he didn't warrant the honey commission scandal worth making a huge deal over since at the end of the day, while it did affect creators in a negative way, it didn't affect the end user:
There really isn't a good defense or much to say on this point because…he just outright acknowledges that he knew it was bad for creators and just decided not to say anything publicly about it aside from his forums which are arguable in their audience reach. He even later states later in the video that he is a victim and that honey has cause financial harm to his company (17:20)
(16:12) Linus says that it's hard to argue that LTT could have had the platform to spread more awareness and change because Mr.Beast was the biggest sponsor of honey and LTT is smaller than Mr.Beast:
While it's true that LTT is smaller than Mr.Beast and wasn't as large of a sponsor for honey as him, they are still the 3rd largest sponsor for honey racking up a total of 194 million views in total which ML shows in his video. It is absolutely justifiable in saying he has the platform to spread awareness of this situation when they knew of the commission scandal.
Overall, this feels very much like a disconnect with LTT and their responsibility as a creator with one of the largest ties to honey and one of the largest platform reach to bring something that they knew was harmful to creators. Even if they thought it didn't effect the consumer, creators are people too and with the amount of sponsorships honey had going on, this was absolutely their responsibility to bring awareness to
Honestly, if PayPal approves of your business model and buys you, then that is enough of a red flag in and of itself. I destroyed my PayPal accounts the second they found a "scam alert" but REFUSED to tell me what it was unless I downloaded their app. Every "security notice" on their website was just a call-to-action to get PayPal on my phone, rather than just telling me whatever the hell it thought it found. There's far better options these days which treat their users better and don't stink of musk.

Why are you using the "users are not affected by honey" excuse like it's an everything proof shield? Users are affected by what honey is doing. If someone used an affiliated link from other creators while using the extension, those creators would also lose their money. Users unknowingly being made as an accomplice to theft and saying they were not affected is such BS. Maybe next time be more thorough in your sponsorships? Or just stop claiming that LMG has ethics and morals. Just be a business and for profit, it's not like it's a bad thing these days. Just like what linus said, doing it halfway, might as well not do it at all. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

16:20 While it's true your not THE largest channel that featured honey. You've seen the graph. You're top 2 by a substantial margin to other creators. And you also do videos about tech. The criticism that you could have been a little more vocal about this is very reasonable to my eyes. I don't know for sure if you mentioned this in the WAN show back when you made the discovery and stopped working with them, I think it must have been mentioned if it wasn't.
Eh, I don't care about the outrage anymore. Can't wait for the backpacks to arrive!
