What's the deal with the color in this video? I've never once thought Linus's eyes (whites), teeth, and skin are all the same color until now.

My home TV system is a 49" monitor connected to a Raspberry Pi 5 server running Linux Ubuntu with a MATE desktop, with 16TB M.2 2280 PCIE NVMe storage and with A300 AirPulse speakers and it works very well. I avoid smart TVs like the plague. I run a home brew media centre based around a web server. Operation is via wireless mouse. Simple to select and play movies and music.

It's a piece of crap. Washed out blacks, ultra clunky interface, and a requirement you have an Amazon account so they can do data collection on you, and sell it to their marketers. A complete rip off.
Does anyone know an app/plugin that automatically removes the product ad at the bottom left? (The one that shows up during playback as an overlay to the video. It only started appearing this week so it's not the old one from years ago)

Yes Amazon saves your WiFi passwords to your account. As does Microsoft, Google, and Apple.
So sure…if someone hacks your account (and MFA), they could theoretically drive/fly to your home and get on your WiFi network…but if you’re really concerned about that, you probably already have a VLAN for smart devices and IoT anyway.
Truth is TCL TVs aren't all that bad…
