AMD didn't talk about its new GPUs in the keynote, but yes, they do exist.
Clarification: Our statement regarding the new 9950X3D and 9900X3D being "not downclocked" is solely based on the information provided by AMD and we will have to wait till we have them in hand in order to verify that the clock speeds are the same in practice when comparing the X3D variant to it's non-X3D counterpart.

I'm a pretty big noob when it comes to building my own pc, last time i upgraded my gpu and cpu i just couldn't get my head around the naming scheme of amd and just went for nvidia and intel.
I mean, you gonna give props to them for giving you content to create Linus??
Is it possible for the labs to have a page with a table where you can sort by real world performance on different chips for different applications irrespective of names? I appreciate not easy to do but an ideal application for the site surely.
I feel like all that's going to happen with this line up is one chip will get known as the go-to (like the 7800X3D) and people will just buy that, potentially leaving out something better for their application or budget.
I'm just gonna keep an eye on that 300 number. That's enough for now.
GPU price helped my community stay away from computers and play sports. My nephews & nieces and their friends (aged 13-18) are not into computer games. They're into cooking, painting, and sports. And the older ones like me are into investing. Mobile phones nowadays are good. So for $200, people are not far behind technology.

And that's why nvidia is 3.6 trillion while amd is 0.2 trillion. I think Lisa managed in fact to burry AMD overinvesting in CPUs, and underinvesting in GPUs. CPU performance is great for enterprise customers but for 90% of consumers, anything over a ryzen 3, 4 core 8 threads is overkill.

Pretty sure there is a video of Linus complaint about Apples over simplification of iPhone naming.
Nvidia has also been doing some change with naming to confuse customers. RTX 4060 is really what should have been named 4050 but they do this and give lower end products at same number and sell them for more money. This is really the same for 4070 and 4080 too. But at least they don't completely change naming every couple of generations.

Were the charts wrong at 6:05, or will the "AI 7 350" be identical to "AI 7 PRO 350" in specs? I must have missed something… I honestly can't really tell with this release.
AMD getting flak for the change to their GPU naming is hilarious because the alternative would be having their new GPUs to potentially have the same numbers as their CPUs. Then, people will complain about that confusion instead. I can understand the change BUT it just shows that they failed to plan ahead.
Other than that, all the other naming changes are seriously confusing to anyone who doesn't follow tech

Agree so much with your point of naming being important so that you know upgrade path. I have a 7800 xt and will not know what to upgrade in a few years if they keep changing the names. They need consistency.

Linus there is a "new" cooling solution that makes the chip cooler while drawing less power (cooler draws less) so that can also be a factor with 120 tdp

It's baffling how many companies try to copy Apple's naming scheme, only to stumble and make things more confusing.

Any information on the iGPUs in the AI 300 and 200 series beyound the RDNA generation would've been nice. Those are the chips many people looking for actual laptops care about, not the 120W ones with basically desktop GPUs integrated that will only be seen in thick desktop replacements.

Dear companies, here is how product naming should go
Chip/Series [G – graphics, M – mobile, C – CPU, H – Handheld, ……]
Model/Variant – [1/2/3/…20/40/60/80….a/b/c….α/β/γ]
So a simple convention for you and for us would be
Chip – Year – Variant
See this example: graphics card of 2025 with [20/40/60/80] variants
G – 2025 – 20 —–> G-2520 can be the base variant while, G-2580 can be the top variant
How hard can it be ???
