rx 9070 16gb better… really rtx 5000 the worst series of video cards in the entire history of nvidia. I thought the RTX 4000 series was a passable product, that they were testing artificial intelligence and would finally make a budget top video card 5070. But the reality is 5070 7 fps versus 4090 where is the real 30-60 fps in 4-8k resolution

I just don't understand 4k only testing. Steams 2025 hardware survey shows only 3% of people game at this resolution, yet 30% do at 1440p and that is the resolution that is on the rise (+10%) with the majority still gaming at 1080p. Why are you catering for the 3% only?

I guess it's good to see how cards perform at the extreme end of things, but there's a good reason why only just over 3% of people play in 4k. The overhead cost going from 1440 to 4k is exponential for arguably very little gain visually.

I always focus on the 1% lows over higher FPS. Nvidia has such a large distance from average FPS to 1% lows, so AMD with a big win here. A lot more solid performance.

AMD's temps are impressive but the wattage is pretty bad, the regular 9070 averages higher wattage than the 5070 Ti which is ridiculous but I can also appreciate that you wont need 20 fans in your PC case to keep the AMD cards cool, AMD still the way to go for budget.

I think the problem is fs3, fsr4, dlss3 and dlss4 all give different performance based on which version you’re using which can inflate the numbers.

The best would be to show one slide with upscaling and one without

Very interesting. It's cool to see how the 9070's generally perform more consistently, even if the max FPS is a bit lower than the comparable 5070's. I would prefer having more consistent graphical presentation above having the absolute maximum framerate. And, with lower MSRPs and significantly lower temps, that's a win in my book for SFF builds utilizing Bazzite!

Rasterization benchmarks are great, but I use upscaling as I am a 4k gamer. Upscaling is here to stay no matter how many people complain about it and I think it's really a huge miss if it isn't incorporated into reviews.

So that average is dragged down by games that run like garbage on Radeon cards. When the 5070 outperforms the 9070 XT surely there's something wrong with the optimisation.
