Correction: At 5:44, we state that "Doom Eternal can only run high refresh rate OR HDR because the game doesn't support Freesync Premium Pro". In fact, a game doesn't need to support Freesync Premium Pro in order for a Freesync Premium Pro monitor to allow both HDR and VRR simultaneously, and any monitor that supports HDR and VRR should be able to do both simultaneously unless there's an issue (i.e. bug) with the monitor, game, OS, or user. In our case we aren't sure why it didn't show up, but we will investigate and get it working for next time. – LS

So, Samsung made a monitor that really isn't the best at being a monitor. Let's blame Microsoft. Sure, that tracks. My LTT screwdriver doesn't fit these square drive screws. Let's blame the screw driver. Or… or…. hear me out…. perhaps developers should make their products excel in the environment they're targeted for. So, perhaps the screw driver is a bad example as it came ready to deal with square drive screws. More or less, Samsung made hardware that isn't fully compatible with industry-standard software. Samsung is blaming others for their shortcoming. You fell for it and repeated the dumb. Well done.
my biggest question as a customer, why would i buy this over the alienware AW3423DWF that is 400 euros cheaper?
So many features that would be great for a student or someone living in a dorm. Too bad neither of those will ever be able to afford one.
Absolutely hate that they've added smart TV functionality, that's one of the primary benefits of monitors these days. The horrible IO and the awful looking white frame makes this an absolute non-starter. But then again there's a reason I don't buy Samsung stuff.

Still not sure about the format. Ultrawide can be annoying. Would love to see a 32" 4K screen with this tech. Right now it's either Samsung NEO G7, NEO G8 or the Acer Predator X32 FP X32FPbmiiiiphuzx (which has only half the dimming zones of the Samsungs). However Samsung has a bad reputation for quality control on their screens.. Guess there's always some compromise..

Read reviews or amazon reviews before buy it… it has ALOT of RMA and problems. It is like a lottery to buy this model… a close friend buy it and has to returned it after one hour, the screen liquid came crazy and it looked like crazy artifacts over there.
You know, I really like seeing Linus just unashamedly using his influence to openly and directly ask manufacturers and developers, etc. to move thinks into a direction that he thinks would be good for the industry. I don't always agree, but I'm an advocate of progress, and everybody knows that people that can make decisions and changes like this do watch, or at least hear about LTT. It's really cool to have this link between the community and the people making things and providing services. I think it helps create an open dialogue that's really hard to have otherwise, and I really appreciate. It also clearly shows that Linus stands by what he advocates for in the way he runs his business (retail and media) and his communities.
Wait!!! The game needs to support freesync pro for HRF and HDR? This is very weird! If the game allows HDR and unlock fps than it'll simply work! Why the hell wouldn't work?
My main takeaway from this video was that in the future PC monitors will no longer be a way to escape "smart" tv's.
I guess Samsung sponsored it so you can't do a comparison to the Alienware

Does anyone remember QuadPixel TVs? I watched this video and started thinking about seeing them in stores with 4 diamonds on the screen. Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow. I also remember George Takei do some ads for it?
Anyway, I think it would be really cool to see LTT do a video on them I keep seeing all of these new QDOLED screens and thinking "didnt we add a 4th color to RGB already? What happened to that? Obviously must not have been that important" lmao
The best announcement Samsung could make is that they are expanding their QC staff and procedures before validating a panel for retail.
