Seasonic is here at Computex 2025 with some really cool new tech that might just save your GPU from overheating due to the infamous 12-pin connector. They’re also showcasing a 3200W PSU, a monitoring solution for 12V-2×6 connectors, loads of new colours for their Focus series, and a new Noctua edition PRIME PSU.

The editing on this video is absolutely superb. I have found recent LTT video editing between cuts is badly timed, or has overlapping audio which I absolutely hate. This video is spot on and the editor deserves praise.
wait who is the sponsor 🤪
Man ai in psu ai everything create an ai pc linus
PSU manufacturers fixing Nvidia's disaster…
12 plug cycles is fucking criminal, plug that shit in 13 times and its a fire thats "your fault"
30 CYCLES????
Dude every time i move my pc to game at a friends house i remove my gpu so it wont get torn off the mobo…
Luckily i still have 2x 8pin but what were they thinking? 30???
someone at seasonic must be Qiqi main in Genshin Impact … XD
All according to nvidia plan. Purposedly use a bad connector to provide new business for manufacturer around it. More money to spend on theese things.
I wonder what will they do next.
The thw fact anyher company has to fix another's companys error that they have known for years is wild
A whole industry is trying to fix or have work-around for a problem connector standard forced to all their consumers by this big bully company! Meanwhile human life improving standards like the IEC power cable used on most electronics can sustain 16amps 250volts and has served the world greatly! Also the previous ATX PCIE 8Pin already has proven to be good, although it eats a lot more space and using it on a 600watt monster gpu will require 4x8pins. But yeah this power sensing capabilities is one way to early detect such problem but it wont solve it entirely. Much better if we get a better standard, 2 very thick wire gauge to power the gpu like Linus did on his experiment direct from PSU.
Asus has been doing per-pin monitoring for a while now. Nice to see other brands starting to incorporate it, but let's not give them credit.
Why not using only 2 Cables with a thicker core and fixed.
If I was heading MSI, I'd of meme'd on the MSI-AfterBurner branding and make a separate balancer-box dongle included in the GPU bundle branded:
MSI-NoVidiaBurner
Well, Seasonic-NoVidiaBurner would just have to do instead.
Eitherway Nvidia gets another burn!
BS SOLUTION! The reason is that card makers use cheap connectors that are not fit for purpose. It is not rocket science to design a connector that can handle the higher currents reliably. There are plenty of industrial quality connectors available with very low contact resistance and with screw or cammed locking tabs that ensure the connector is tight and will not work loose because of vibration or thermal cycling. MORE PROFITS MEANS USING CHEAP COMPONENTS!
30 mating cycles is hella low and bad.
I really don't get the 12 pin connector. We have 6+2 pin connectors for ages, so a solid standard. Isn't it better to use 2 or 3 6+2 pins connectors instead of 12? Its at least 1,5x better this way. I even saw 4x (6+2) to 12 pins convertors from Nvidia gpu? Why? Why would they do that?
Christ, just use 1-2 XT90 connectors and call it a day! Don't need to reinvent the wheel ffs.
well, it's good that Seasonic is tackling the issue however now Nvidia will be like "well then just get a seasonic PSU". As bad as it would be it might be overall better to let more GPUs go up in flames to actually get the one who fcked up to fix their mistake
24 or 48 volts pleaseeeeeeeeeee
Well thats cool. Personally my next upgrade to Gpu might be away from NVIDIA anyway since they don't make gaming gpus anymore, its all ai. So unless AMD start to use the same connectors this won't be an issue
Erm, actually aah thumbnail
it is impressive that they keep managing to do NVidia's homework… however, i still think i should use it all tht safe power on an AMD card that won't catch on fire this reliably
4:35 if I would live in N-America, I would guess I would have 240V (6-15p) at my desk.
More efficient and MO POWA BABEH :p
The GOAT of power supply brands
The people with the blue shirts were very excited and kept waving at the camera👋🏽
I paused the video just to count the number of heat pipes on that Noctua CPU cooler. DANG.
we really need to legally regulate power draw of components, and this is merely one of many reasons
I like this PSU. Well done Seasonic!
guys i need help im thinking of buying a 3060 upgrading from 1650 but 3060 dosnt have frame gen so should i buy a 4060 ? i have a i5 9400f which gpu should i buy 3060 12gb or 4060 8 gb and i have a 400w psu
3:57 why the hell is ai generated quiqui in the backround 😭
Can someone explain the whole 'user error' argument? People have been building computers BEFORE this connector. So, either they've been making this 'error' this whole time but without these terrible results or there is something flawed in the connector or BOTH. I'm just trying to understand the people that have a HARD opinion that it is exclusively 'user error.'
Why aren't PSU makers innovating in size? I want to see psu's become like HDPLEX size.
Which watch it Linus wearing?
Instead of fighting the cause, they fight the consequences. Just like modern medicine)
Вместо борьбы с причиной, они борятся с последствиями. Прям как современная медицина)
Here I thought Linus was going to suggest water cooled power cables…
Are those basic fuse? Sure look like basic fuses. I hope that isnt the selution they have and they have mosfet with a current sensor or something. Otherwise we just go from bricking gpus to bricking powersupplys. Yeah technicly its an inprovement but damm.
I do think so though, if they are comparing the pins they have a micro controler in there.
