I run a fairly decent-sized guitar forum in the UK…it's been going for 12 years (based on a community that's existed since the early days of the web, since Musicradar just shut down the last incarnation), and for the first 8 years it existed purely from donations and periodic merch sales. Now it's just me running it, it's been surviving on ad revenue and a small number of VIP subscriptions, but that revenue is dwindling. I have no idea what's going to happen next, but I'm almost certainly going to just accept the fact that at some point it's going to be one of my monthly bills that never goes away. I refuse to shut it down no matter what happens, there's just such a wealth of knowledge and history on there, and when I took responsibility for it…that was a commitment from me to the community, for good or ill.

In Ukraine, we use BankID to verify a person's age. It is mainly required for government services, but some private companies connect it if necessary. The system works very simply: the service sends a request to the bank (you can choose from several dozen of the largest banks) asking "is this person 18 years old" and the bank sends a response, all this happens in two clicks in seconds. It should be clarified that banks in Ukraine provide most of their services through their application on the phone, not through physical offices, this is one of the most innovative businesses in this regard (some banks do not have offices at all). Another service, convenient for those who for some reason cannot use the first one, is "DIA signature". This service also replaces the physical signature on the document, legally it completely replaces it in all cases. You can send signed documents (which contain a QR code of the signature) via email or messengers and through this service you can check the authenticity of this signature. A photo is used for verification, but it is compared with your passport photo. This all happens within the government system, which already has all the data about you, because all documents have digital copies (in the case of, for example, a driver's license, you may not receive it in the form of a plastic card at all, but only have it on your phone in the application).
