  1. Here's my referral link for a discount on Tesla Solar: http://ts.la/reed50987
Do you guys have any questions about my experience with solar, Powerwalls, or Tesla?

  2. Tesla has had a huge issue with communications. I just had an issue and communication was below poor. I see that has been an on going issue with Energy customer service for the past year. On the topic of your video, what integration did you use? Do I have to have a powerwall to use the integration?

  3. Jesus christ, huge house man.

  4. Hi, great video – I just got my powerwalls and inverters installed – its similar to yours and I'm in southern california – so the garage seems to really heat up when the powerwalls and the inverters are running? Any solutions? (My garage is missing the typical lower side vents that most garages have)

  5. it's all fun and games until you solar PV system starts bleeding

  6. What size generator do I need to run my whole house?

  7. How are you still paying a power bill (even $4) if you have a 12Kw system and battery? We had a 5Kw system and paid maybe $90 a month after feed in credit and we had cooling on most of the summer here. My in-laws have a 3Kw system and haven’t paid for power in a decade, they actually get a huge credit back each quarter .

  8. This is such a great summary of the good and bad of the Tesla solar panels and power walls. Thank you so much for helping us make our decision on Tesla solar!

  9. You should research before attaching your channel, everyone has had problems with these, and tesla customer service is the worse, hundreds of you tube videos.

Nice and helpful. I'm in Las Vegas . We have the same system with 3 batteries packs. My wife can't understand why I want to keep them at 100% . I can't convince her and Tesal is no help.

  10. How is your setup going now?

You mentioned not using powerwalls at night to avoid degrading the powerwalls – is this really an issue? I didn't realize they degrade to that extend just from making regular use of them.

I like the idea of these power walls, i just dont like tesla as a company, it just seems like they care more about money than customer safety/satisfaction. Their cars are basically death traps if the doors lose power. And there was a guy that they tried to charge him to be able to use all of the battery on his car. And from the other comments it looks like its just not worth the migraine.

  11. How much is your monthly payment for the Tesla system and how much is your monthly bill during summer months

  12. We can see you under the roof, controlling the drone 🙂

  13. So no wifi means no electricity? If so well then that would be a bummer for when the zombie apocalypse is in effect.

Power walls are great. However, there are systems out there that are far cheaper. For example, you can buy a 30kw battery system for $9,000 ($1,500 for each 5.1kw battery modules/pack x6 = 30.6 kw). So for $18,000, you could get a massive 60,000kw battery system (yes, it's overkill but listing it to make a point if you're going to spend all that money) from which you could just about fully charge your electric car with long range (or fully charge a standard range from 0 to 100%), or an average home for a full 2 days, including using air conditioning (30kw per day average). Or you can spend anywhere in between, like $12,000 for a 40kw system. And I'm talking about long cycle life LFP battery systems that last for 20 or 30 years or more. So I'm wondering why you didn't consider those as opposed to going through the installation hell with the Tesla installers and support and spending at least twice the money?

Why do you use the dryer in the summer? Can't you just hang your clothes in the garden? At 35° which you definitely have in the summer they will dry almost immediately.

  14. Now that you've gone through almost a full Arizona summer, how has your 12.4 kW system performed?

  15. Thanks for documenting and sharing.

Solar panels must have doubled in price since you posted this video just priced my own system it's a 14.5 KW shut up with two power walls and it was almost $80K before the 26% incentive.

  16. Helpful – please do a 1 year update when the time comes.

  17. and a tech that wont answer
?s id be like pound sand

  18. 1130 am till about 5 pm is all your gunna get 4pm in reality then your on battery and better watch your consumption tvs etc sure dryer 50 amps no only during the day its not really worth it

  19. my powe bill was 4 dollars but that new roof was 30 grand and the panels 30 grand and 3 banks of batts 30 grand yea worth the savings lol solar is only worth anything if you dont have power say in a cabin and it will cost 500 grand to get a power pole and 2 miles of line installed thats the only way you save…

  20. You are drowning in a sea of consumer debt by the looks of it your are technology poor

  21. so…DON'T GO WITH TELSA SOLAR.

  22. THANK YOU for making this video. I really appreciate all the info

  23. I had a similar experience with Sigora Solar here in Northern Virginia. They said it would be a few months; installation didn’t start for almost 10 months. Installers drive from far away, were in a hurry to leave, left some connections open and a penetration unsealed. Lots of radio silence from Sigora throughout. 11 months later, the panels and my one PowerWall battery are working well but the Tesla app gives false readings – possibly due to an improper connection? But the good news is, my electric bill has been under $10 for the past few months, my house is a lot cooler on hot days now that I have “free” electricity, and I have battery backup for the essentials (but not ac with only one PowerWall). I told them months ago that I would pay the other half of the bill when all the apps work and I haven’t heard from them since.

  24. Just so everyone knows, Tesla doesnt make there own panels. They buy theire panels from Panasonic. Just so everyone knows.

  25. WHAT?? A NEGATIVE COMMENT ON TESLA???? IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE????

  26. The comms problem completely put me off Tesla. I'd rather pay a bit more to somebody I can actually talk to.

  27. You'd think the contractor would've at least painted the conduit so it wasn't such an eye sore.

  28. wow you spend thousands and still pay for electricity. how much does your loan cost for the free energy. last i saw power walls only cost around $11,500 or more installed, ever seen a video of anyone raving about their free energy after 10 – 12 years when they have to start replacing major components. or about how much more it cost them to replace their roof and completely remove the entire panel system and put it back. anyone anywhere ever seen a company that made solar panels that guarantee them for 20 years that has not gone out of business around 10yrs. seems no one ever makes out in the long run, just as it is about to cost nothing for the free electricity they have to spend thousands more and never seem to get to the majic place or do then have to turn around and spend even more. too funny

  29. You said it was (48thou) after the credits how much was it)

  30. But what was your electric bill before the install?

  31. How I can give you this one I need by one piece
