I've had the aftermarket dock mentioned at the end for a few months now. It serves as a backup for me and is located in my office. I got it for $35 from Amazon. It works wonderfully. Throughout the video, I kept thinking, "What am I missing?" "My aftermarket works perfectly."
If they keep doing this, i will try opening a piracy shop then legally selling games.
It was amusing to come across this video after my wio u power cable started to break and I learnt that PD cables exist to connect the console to a 45w/65w charger.
The Switch 2 honestly needs to fail long term. If it doesn't, then we have some very dark times ahead.

apple did had their own audio connector , since they flipped the order of TRS connectors.
This is still a better situation than the first switch, where it could be bricked through the use of third party docks.
The situation with the new switch is not surprising and importantly not new. Thus, not really much of a topic. How many people actually care when the dock is included anyway.
Nintendo fans be like “wow that’s really bad, I hope they stop doing it” and then proceeds to buy a $450 Switch Pro, $80 Mario Kart, and the next Pokémon game. They get exactly what they pay for

We don't need Nintendo anymore. I grew up on the SNES, N64, and Gamecube. Even so, their attitude towards their fans and even the studios under them has always been a sore spot for me. Their recent actions just make it easier for me. Let them rot. The gaming industry won't even notice their absence at this point. Not even as a speed bump. Plus, their assets will get sold. Maybe someone more deserving of the franchises ends up with them. Outside of EA or Ubisoft, it couldn't get worse.

I just bought a third-party Switch 2 mini replacement dock from Amazon (by JORREP) for $26 and it works perfectly with my Switch 2. That's very weird. It's basically just like the one you showed in your video at 0:49, but it's new? I guess, and a different color. Definitely not an official Nintendo accessory though, but still works.

This was already an issue with the first Switch. Even though it used USB-C, the implementation wasn’t fully standard, and third-party docks sometimes ended up bricking consoles. Nintendo never fully fixed the underlying design, just warned people to use licensed gear after the backlash. Now with the Switch 2, they’ve gone even further, adding proprietary encrypted protocols that block almost all third-party docks outright.
