15:18 Bro I thought you were drinking the foam from a fucking fire extinguisher for a second-
Edit: Seeing the text on the bottle now, I see that was by design.
Wow, I feel so good about myself, I did this exact surgery on my X13 3 weeks ago and decided to go with PTM 7950 instead of liquid metal.
Screw liquid metal no one gonna talk about how you say asus it's quiet ah sus😂
Give the broken laptop to labs and do a follow up, am I the only one who wants to know exactly whats broken? 🙂
Can be a short, hey we found shorted out traces ont the board, blown up capacitors, anything… i'm curious.
Thanks for the video, again! 🙂

Linus: I Fixed another Laptop!
…the real birthdays are the laptops we made along the way.
Liquid metal is a stupid idea…
You Should use a De-Soldering Suction pump for this…
Where's thegreatesttechnicianever? @SalemTechsperts
Within 2 minutes got 2 ads from YouTube not even them sponsored something. Kinda sad knowing paying for premium is not going to help it any….
ive seen some repair techs use an ultrasonic cleaner for liquid metal
…if I don't get a Riley holiday music video…I'm gonna be sooooo mad!
I got an Alienware (crazy good deal that's the only reason) and replaced the liquid metal with ptm7950 just to prevent this from happening.
I replaced the motherboard with a slightly better one as I got the laptop with a burnt out motherboard thanks to the liquid metal. It's a terrible idea and companies are just being lazy.
Liquid metal gets away in PS5 because in 99.99% of the time of PS5's lifespan and context of use… The device is never going to move from the place where it was first installed. Or even when moved, it's completely in its off state… But laptops are different. Very different in the context of use of it…
ah yes you should wait till your portable device that is meant to be transported vertically is completely cooled off till you are able to vertaically porta the device, otherwise it will completely break
Contact owner and expert from channel ,,Parts-People Dell Laptop Experts". He is specialist in these sorts of problems, maybe he can make it working again. You can even do some colab with him and promo his skills etc, as it wouldn't be first time you've informed public about what is used when dealing with such issues in professional enviroment
I cant wait for the 1.000 comments telling a worse way to do this.
I have that same computer, but it stays on my desk. Good to know that it is 'mostly' Linus proof.
Laptop should last me 2-3 years while I am careless.
This is a easy fix. I just completely clean it and replace it with paste, ptm, or cyrosheet.
Link for thermal pad? Is it the same as Thermal Grizzly CPU thermal pad?
You could have used a desoldering pump to suck it all out
so the takeaway is that its worthless in real world use possibly not covered under warranty and has a chance to nuke your machine hardware wise. so why are people buying this junk again??
Do engineers of this shit wake up every day and ask "how can we maximize e-waste today?"
plus , that point ultra sonic cleaner , or something more drastic , this video was a waste of my time , because we did not find out what killed the laptop ………………….
did anyone else notice that linus is wearing braces?
