I think all a good mouse needs is 2 side buttons, good slides, and a good sensor. You can find plenty like that in the 30-60 dollar range
G502x cost 60$ and will last years when the 20$ scam will be destroy in a day
For 30usd you can get mchose g7 pro/max for 40usd and it's better than g502 in many ways and it's the same shape minus few side buttons

Yes, it absolutely justifies the 80 dollar difference… Your main way you interact with your computer must not slow you down or work against you, it also must feel good, and stay good for years… I still have my 160 euro Logitech G5 Laser mouse that works perfectly and is still great… The difference is that it doesn't really work too well on my smooth mousepad. So I now have the G502 Hero… Would not trade it for a 20 euro or even a 50 euro mouse.
