Comments

  1. It's definitely $799 for sure💯

  2. P Cenis lol

  3. Valve has to rise above the console peasant price range. $1200 would be perfect.

  4. AI is gonna make the cost of the steam machine closer to 1000. For the US depending on where the assemble it tariffs can affect that as well

  5. State of the anti-cheat situation on Linux:
From the top 100 played games, these multiplayer games do not work:
PUBG, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, FIFA 25
    These work fine:
Arc Raiders, Marvel Rivals, Helldivers 2, Apex Legends, War Thunder, Dead by Daylight, Valheim, Overwatch 2, World of Warships, Forza Horizon 5, Rocket League, Counter Strike 2, Dota 2.

  6. I called it, $699.too. get bent reddit.

  7. I still don't get why they didn't try to have something like a deck station for Steam Deck…
You got something that already is selling, it's handheld and you'd be able to sell even more of that to the exact target audience you're trying to reach now for like 1/3 of the price! People would buy MORE of your main console.
This one is a PC (but not really), a console (but not really) and with a higher price tag than both of those, probably.
May end up selling like crazy, IDK, but for now it seems like a bad marketing strategy with nothing that special to offer to the market

  8. It will be $999. If I’m wrong, I’ll eat an entire Entenmann’s pound cake.

  9. 700$ is good

  10. 599.99 I'm calling it enjoy your cake 😂

  11. I was guessing in the ballpark for 800 to 850 for the 512 and then 950 to 1000 for the 2 TB.
I was actually looking at the GMKtec K11 with the Ryzen 9 8945HS (Turbo 5.1GHz) 32GB DDR5 2TB SSD and eGPU Enclosure with AMD Radeon 7600M XT.

  12. "It's exactly that PCness…"
I'll add that word to my vocabulary 😀

  13. If they can’t compete with a 599 Mac mini m4 price point, then it’s a niche market that makes minimal waves. DRM and nand prices aren’t going to go down over the next 3 years. So it’s not going to priced how people want.

  14. whitening strips please

  15. The moment floatplane appears on apple tv is the day i subscribe 👌

  16. My brother is a console gamer; I'm a PC gamer. I'd love to play with him more, but we're stuck with the infrequent cross-platform games. If the GabeCube can provide a console-like plug-and-play experience, I think it'll be the perfect gateway between (stationary) consoles and PC gaming.

  17. Aren't these comparisons a bit off?
I mean Valve will buy everything in bulk making it cheaper than putting one together with hand picked pieces??

  18. I just noticed Linus teeth, what in the world

  19. You're also not having to buy new games like for consoles. You have you're whole stream library already fully playable on your thing.

  20. Yeah $650 seemed realistically possible, $599 a sweet deal. I’m really not sure where ppl got the $500 idea.

  21. "Remember the Alienware Steam machine?"

Yeah it's sitting in my living room hooked to my PC still getting use, albeit with the OS upgraded from the EOL SteamOS 2.0 swapped out for Bazzite configured to boot into Steam Big Picture.

$699 is pretty much what I was predicting and I'm happy with that price. If my Steam Deck is anything to go by, the value for money is there and then some. I spent significantly more than that on my desktop.

  22. Price?? Like lobster… Market Price … goes in tandem with the RAM price.

  23. if its is more than 600$ its not worth it. ps5 digital is way more powrful than steam mashine and it just 500$

  24. It's comparable to the ps5 so 700 – 750 usd would be fair.

  25. Iirc there are launch options for Ex33 to disable steam deck mode

  26. Also with windows going the way it goes. Having your gaming PC a airgapped separate rig is a more and more sensible thing to do.

  27. 700-800$ is pretty competitive pricing compared to consoles. for a steam machine, you dont need to but a new one every 2-3 years in fear of newer games not releasing on an older generation and that comes with price increases with each console generation. This combined with the regular functionality of a PC and the steam sales a consumer will save back the extra cost of a steam machine in about a year or 2 depending on their purchasing habits. This all being said while we ignore the significant increase in pricing of the console market in the last 2 years.

  28. Tbf no one in the world selling prebuilt that’s compact rn

  29. dont hey also get more customers to steam?

  30. Yeah.. Valve is raking in billions and they benefit from all the quest 3 users that bought subsidized hardware from meta and don't spend a penny on their store, so… no sympathy in that regard lol

they can also limit purchase quantities / not do corporate sales in bulk.

  31. The cake is a lie

  32. yellow braces is self nerfing urself

  33. It has to cost more than the oled steam deck right 😂

  34. I've been saving for a pc, this seems perfect

  35. i mean at 800 even 700$ the ps5 is the clear winner, im sorry but i hate these console pc comparison videos. consoles do one thing best and its purely a closed software everything in terms of hacking is coming from open software that is pc with and estimated 1-3 pc players being hackers now a day. and the ps5 pro would be closer to its competitor at that price which the ps5 pro dominates in performance as the gpu is rx 7700 xt equivilant
