We chose the 5070 Ti because for what remained in our budget at the time (pricing between it and the 9070 XT was closer).
I agree we could have framed the 7900 XT discussion a little better. It had less to do with our choice and more just frustration AMD doesn't put more pressure on Nvidia at the high end.
The 9070 XT is totally a valid choice for a build and at the current price difference it's very competitive. -LS
£257 in the uk. For 64gb. Yikes
2400 for a prebuilt with a 5080 at microcenter
Ps5 pro better
Sag bracket + while tightening the gpu down make sure its sitting straight if not a bit raised up
I remember in 2009, when I thought 140$ was too much for a 1 gig 256 bit card. HD 5000 series. Have to admit though, that card can run rocket league 😆
gigabyte, we still using ps2 in 2025 ??
This now costs more than $2500 converted from where I live.
dammit inflation ! $2k just for the "midwit" tower and then add 400~600 for a somewhat correct monitor. even technology prices arent deflationary anymore…
G.SKILL Flare X5 Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 475,06€
Days where we were able to build decent rigs at $1000😢. Gone poof
Yep. I was about to complain about the price of ram in here, then I realized… Im literally having claude code build me a comprehensive discord bot, and an LLM frontend for my own locally hosted models while watching this video….shit. Im the problem arent I?
please dont put an AMD cpu into an LGA socket as said in the video 😭
Having recently rewatched a reaction comp on the verge build, this video is truly reinforcing just how crazy that vid was
I checked my new egg order from least year (Nov 2024), the DDR 5 ram I got for $97 is now $400
I dont get the purpose of this video its full of sponsored parts and the gpu comparison was pathetic. Its clear youve sold out which is fine but at least put some effort into the video instead of doing a bare bones sponsorship shill video.
WDYM its 2k? its 6k now!!??!!
I’m convinced that these AI/nvidia companies are doing this on purpose to force the working class into cloud gaming subscriptions where they will just keep bumping up the price if I had to make a prediction it’s gonna take 6 to 10 years before prices come down because I don’t think people want cloud gaming in preparation I upgraded to a 9070XT from a 7800xt before January’s price hikes bought an extra am4 motherboard a second hand 5700xt cpu and upgraded to 32 gigs ram from 16 one of last 32 gig DDR4 kits available and now I think they are completely out of stock and I’ll keep everything as extra just in case if they try to do this games will stop making improvements because no one will be upgrading so it’s likely these will be relevant for a long and as long as no one actually takes the subscription models I think we will be good
That ram is now $10,000 and the 9070 xt is on sale for $100 and AMD just upgraded it so it can run cyberpunk in 8k with all settings maxed out 😮
Linus, what the hell are you talking about ?
The 9070 xt is cheaper and can outperform that 5070 rtx
I just knew you were going to choose a nvidia card 🙄
You should acknowledge the death and legacy of Diosdado Banatao. Without him, your channel and consumer PCs would not exist.
I'm talking to you Linus, and other tech youtubers!
Thought he had yellow teeth just yellow braces
Time to checkout of techtube and check back in 2029 when RAM comes back down 😂
7:49 this advice kinda bugs me. It's really not ok to just plop the cooler back down. That's a very easy way to create tiny little air pockets or an uneven distribution. If you cared enough to pick it up and see what the spread looks like, you care enough to redo the paste.
The aio shield crying alone in the motherboad box xd
why are u saying 2026 in the title and its posted in 2025 and the 2026 products are not even released yet due to it not being 2026 yet lol
Where I live (Hungary) this 2k usd PC is literally 3 months of minimum wage.
I did not search up the individual parts, but in my local currency it is probably more than 2k usd, more like 2.3-2.4k.
$300 for 32GB of DDR5 RAM is reasonable? Hell nah! Also what's even the point of making this while PC components around the DDR5 system would go even higher over time. I think going for Intel 12/13/14th with DDR4 RAM would age better (at least they support PCIE 5.0 for GPU compared to old AM4)

"In the real world"
Bro what REAL WORLD has a 5090 and runs ultra high settings? Most useless charts ever
2k in my country would translate close to 3k. 🥀🥀
Who is that guy at 4:28?
Now give me $2000, so I can build this at home
Didnt know you were PC till i found an old video of you being weird to a tech guy about calling his system "god mode". Gotta unsub, this millennial self righteous generation is unbearable
Hey Linus you should make a video of new vs used but the used is from market place or from the pawn shops
Yeah… $1500+ I'm building an AR before a gaming pc. Still love the video though.
I just picked up a 9070xt for 580 usd at microcenter and many available models are under 700.
Me 10 years ago buy a pc with 64gb ram overkilled the say. Good, I am so happy that I have done that,t still running this bad boy. Yeah its getting a little slower, but it still runs great. Till the day die, I guess.
How about going back to ddr4? Or way things going ddr3 eww but eh
5:32 definitely not going to find it at this price
segway to our sponsor…
Thank You Seasonic for the sponsorship.
Theathonic.
"The 300$ ram kit" is a legend from the old times.
450$ in promotion ! woohoo ! What a good deal.
The best deal i got this summer(around july 2025) was 64GB of ddr4(3600 cl16) a 5900X with a nh-d15 noctua cooler, and a new motherboard(old one had realtek audio issues)+a case and a gpu which i sold for 70$, all of that for 400$. I love buying second-hand.
Day 9 of asking Linus for a new leg 🦿
tips on tech from linus
8:14 the bent fins from the fan brackets! 🙈
only 300$ for 2x16gb at 6000mhz at cl 30?? in Lithuania it's ~360€ for 2x16gb at 6000mhz cl 32
Installed CPU and RAM onto the motherboard and it already cost more than any of my PCs i had in my whole life 🤣
