Just built a new PC before Christmas, I had to pay £700 for 2 sticks of 32GB DDR5 RAM. Sad times

I lucked out. I designed my PC in June 2024. i bought then 96GB (24GBx4) Corsair Vengeance DDR5 7,200/MT (running stable at 6,000/MT) RGB RAM. I'm set for a while. I also bought then an MSI GeForce 4080 RTX 16GB Super Slim X video card.
The simple answer is no. AI Has actually allowed for mass amount of money into Research and development, so the 3090 to 4090 gave the BIGGEST and I do mean BIGGEST jump ever. Even the 4090 to 5090 has been a huge jump in the end. NVIDIA made such leaps AMD just couldn’t put the amount of investment to even match the high end.
People go on, but we have the biggest rasterisation we’ve ever had, along with software advancements to jump to bottom tier cards like the 5060 and 5070.
Some YouTubers are also bemoaning game quality. Are they correct, or is game quality a personal preference?
Finally a positive video about something. We need to support that kind of content. Count me in Chief.

So happy I went with 64gb DDR5 6400 when I built my PC in March ‘24. $209.
I would like to know if I could buy some ram from you seriously … because that’s literally what’s stopping me from completing my build, nothing like having shocking horror after building a all white aesthetic PC and realizing that ram has skyrocketed in price and I have to literally wait several months to save up to get some RAM and the motherboard that I have only takes DDR5 and now all I see are Youtubers that have so much ram and talking about this issue but no one is like hey I’m a open a website or host it on the website for those who can’t afford ram and we’ll sell it at an affordable price how about y’all help us with that that’ll be nice because at this point I’m looking at ram all over the place by Youtubers like a crackhead foaming at the mouth.

There hasnt been a worst time to build a gaming rig. With manufacturers prioritizing HBM for lucrative AI customers, supply of consumer DRAM and NAND has dried up and prices are surging. People looking to game should get a gaming console in the interim, until supply catches up with demand, hopefully by 2028

i only have 2 screens, the LG OLED C2 4k TV 55 inch that does 120hz and a 12 years old Benq 1080p IPS monitor that does 75hz colors still look good in full RGB mode.
Glad I got my daughter's PC built last October for Christmas… Same RAM is now nearly 3 times the price…

This is exactly why I buy more than I need, I bought 64gb 6000c30 and 3x 2tb crucial t500 for storage few years ago.
NOT DYING. Actually it's getting ready for a huge boost due to advancements in CPU, monitor, AR/VR technologies.
pc gamign isnt dying, buying newer AAA games, newer hardwares, etc. that probably slowed down a lot. But the secondhand market probably flourishing and older games become more attractive.
