Plus some dashcams have incredible additional features like ADAS and parking radars. Check out the whole video to see which one best suits your needs.

  2. try Navman, Aussie product. good stuff

P.S. I'm sri lankan and not associated with the brand in anyway

  3. 4:15 67!

  4. Ltt. The only company actually improving in how they do ads.

  5. i recommend using a fx3 with a tamron lens

  6. I have the 70mai A810 with the Starvis 2 IMX678 camera. I've already captured a few accidents I witnessed on the road and they've all been very clear. Someone even quipped that he thought I was recording with a DSLR πŸ˜‚

  7. The Viofo A229 is the same as the A119 but it has 2 channels, both with the same cameras. The A229 Pro has the same main cameras as the A329T but without the telephoto lens for half the price.

  8. 2:12 I think that was an attempt at II as in roman numerals 2 for twowey

  9. Jesus Christ u installed every dashcam in one car

  10. Perfect timing, I've been wanting to get one. I know last time I looked they all basically sucked and were quite expensive but more and more I'm encountering situations where having things on video would be helpful. So I wanted to look into the current state of things, lo and behold you did all the hard work for me.

  11. At first I thought that gas price was 15.19 Canadian Dollars.

  12. ainsworth was the real sponsor all along

  13. 2:30 FAAHH editor soo goated

  14. Please stop wasting time on making crappy videos 11 months late https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLjGazIxjEA

& Not a beneficial real world comparison/ graph πŸ“ˆπŸπŸ“‰ to be had

Linus please get yourself out from in front of the camera and find good talent in other languages to do what Project Farm does so well, go spend some well deserve time in the Philippines or wherever it was your wife calls home investments and contracts won't be worth anything when we are all "Not owning a thing and happy about it"

    #SeekJoy #Overcomers #NotThroughTech #VideoGame #Addiction is deadly πŸ”₯πŸ•ŠοΈβ™ΎοΈπŸ’œπŸœοΈπŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŒΎπŸŒ½πŸπŸ”β›°οΈπŸ₯ΎπŸ«‚

  15. you need to look at the part numbers on the boards and the camera sensors… you find a lot of them just come from same parts kit XD

  16. I don't understand how you make TWO in-depth videos on this topic and still fail to review one of the most popular brands… Google "best dashcam for uber drivers" and one specific brand always pops up.

  17. I don’t own a car in Los Angeles. I get around on my bike and my scooter. I need the VIAFO A329 in a form factor that I can use on my bike or on my scooter. In the past, I’ve used a Sony Action Cam, a TomTom Bandit Action camera, an Insta360 RS 1 inch and a Techalogic DC 2 dual lens helmet camera. All four have limitations, especially when it comes to twilight/nighttime performance and license plates. You can’t read them at all. Considering that my wife will likely have to use this footage after I’ve been killed on the streets of LA by a car, it’d be a nice to have.

  18. Why no Garmin?

  19. Between the videos Linus Tech tips have released on dash cams and Project Farm's video, I'm pretty much going for a Viofo or a Nextbase it seems. Maybe the wife gets the NextBase and I get the Viofo

  20. Isnt it problematic to show others carsigns? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ or are thos cars from u?πŸ˜‚

  21. Does it really matter if you can see the license place on the camera? If an accident happens and you're not blind you can just note the license plate with your eyes… The most important thing is that you have evidence that it wasn't YOU who caused the accident. So a cheap dashcam that can't see license plates at all is still WAY better than no dashcam at all.

  22. Are there no dash cams from reputable brands?

  23. how about home security cameras instead of dash cam cameras? surly theres something better than spending 600 for being able to accurately read the license plates right? ? sad.

  24. I purchased a Rove R2-4K from Amazon in 2019, and still use it to this day. Shoots 4K but only 24fps, but to me, it's fine. Does an acceptable job with license plates, and picture clarity is rather impressive. The thing I like most about it is the companion app, as well as using "GPS Player" for Windows. Transfer the footage over to either Android/iOS app or Windows, and the player will go into split window view. One side shows the camera footage, and the other shows Google Maps with the blue dot traveling in real time, also showing speed. You'll even get a G-force sensing graph showing X, Y and Z axes. Potholes, hard braking and acceleration all clearly shown.

I use it in my work-provided truck, and it's saved my bacon enough to justify the $125+ cost. The only gripe I have about it is the old school Mini-USB connector and the maximum size of the MicroSD card is 128GB. I pull the footage weekly and scrub what's not needed, so I'm okay with the storage. The camera is permanently mounted in the truck with a hard-wired Mini-USB, so actually it's not that horrible. The camera is never moved.

EDIT I'm seeing the same camera is still being sold on Amazon for $99, and I feel it's well worth the money, given the setback of max 128GB and the Mini-USB. Here's my 2.7 cents, adjusted for inflation.

  25. You guys missed the most popular brands – Nextbase, for example

  26. I used to work with installations and by far the best dashcam was alpine very easy installation too

  27. Titled "Stop wasting money on crappy dashcams", proceeds to review 10 crappy dashcams.

  28. Dashcams literally have no use being as bad as they are. Technology has come to the point where similarly sized devices (smartphones) can record stellar video. Something as bulky as that $600 Viofo should have enough power to not even need that telephoto camera and produce image quality that blows away the competition. A good sensor, image processor, and maybe even AI visual enhancements should be standard across high-end dashcams right now. Not a single dashcam passes my test because they're all horrible at their jobs for their price.

  29. 70 mai has got some great cameras all in different prices ranges and styles and has really good image quality its been the brand I've trusted for years

  30. Multi product reviews with a couple stand-out winners?

    "Very impressive!"

  31. I have no idea what the ad is for but im invested in the story!

  32. We run VIOFO on all our cars, different camera models throughout the years – they're wonderful. You get what you pay for 100%. I had 1 failure in over 8 years of usage (the back camera on one of our cars failed), and VIOFO sent me a replacement with ZERO questions asked after just 1 email to their customer support (even though my product was outside the 1 year warranty period). I didn't even ask them for a replacement, I acknowledged that my warranty is up and I asked them how can I fix it, or if they are willing to sell me replacement parts, they replied with "give us your address, we'll send you a replacement for free!". So yeah, I recommend them. Don't waste your money elsewhere and just buy their stuff.

  33. No Blackvue? You forgot the best brand πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

  34. I have a Viofo A329S and there is just no going back. The parking mode combined with the car battery voltage sensor is awesome!

  35. 70mai backed by Xiaomi has some great budget offerings.

  36. I should mention that during the winter, the Red Tiger powers on and off until my car gets up to temperature, so unless I sit there and let it warm up fully, the first five to ten minutes of my drive aren't covered.

  37. Linus, can you use an insta360 Acer Pro 2 and compare to that $600 dashcam, and explain if it worth it or not

  38. Got 70mai s500. Since i didn’t have a car manual it was hard to find the cable i had to attach it to trigger automatic rear camera when reversing. But apart from that extremely satisfying with quality of both front and rear cameras.

  39. Image quality is important but features are too.

Crash detection to prevent video from being recorded over and also to record when you're parked.

The correct type of battery to be able to withstand extreme weather for vehicles that are usually parked outside.

    Wide front viewing angles.

Having the capability to record each side of your vehicle (front, back, left and right).

  40. I use Dash Cam 4K A810S so good

  41. Adding lane assist on purpose?Yeah sure,let me add start/stop too 😁

  42. Wolfbox?

  43. real ones knew this was coming from the wrong description a few videos ago

  44. I want Riley to handle all the ad segments πŸ˜‚

  45. Yay! Another video with tech tips!
