Linus has talked for years about his issues with Apple and even some of his issues with iPhone, but he also admitted that the iPhone 17 is the closest he has gotten to switching to iOS. Elijah decided to pick up the reigns and buy an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and what he found is that for him, he may NEVER go back to Android…

RIP we lost him
Or swipe up from botttom to get rid of control centre
They trolled me too, Elijah😢
What do you mean QR codes are not ubiquitous? 🐈⬛
still cant brush his teeth, huh?
I mean true as I moved from my beloved S23 Ultra, to IOS for personal reasons, uff that move to iOS is a nightmare for non tech savvy people as it took eye watering 5 hours of just waiting to move everything to this iPhone 17 Pro Max. Well it ain’t easy though to move to a walled garden, I am an existing iOS user just moved to S23 Ultra for business use but rolled back to iphone to keep it personal and S23U for business only. And omg it’s freaking headache
You can change the camera button to only activate the camera after double clicking. It's a workaround but I hate that stupid button
Why are you comparing a 3 years old mid-range Android phone with a brand-new flagship one?
Also, as a tech savvy and software engineer, I never had to transfer a file, so who cares about air drop? Last time I did, was when bluetooth just came out and I could send and receive mp3 files before the smartphone days.
6:49 this is another reason why i love samsung the one hand operation plus make the gestures extremely useful you can add 36 gestures on the side of the screen which is insane
Once I started using Xiaomi device, I just laugh when anyone says my phone charge so fast 😂😂😂 using Samsung or iphone 😂
He should have spent the money on dental
I'm sure an iPhone is a great fit for a lot of people including Elijah, but I'd honestly rather make some weird thing out of a raspberry pi before I would use an iPhone.
literally just learned you could tap your way out of control centre, and I’ve literally only owned iphones
Customization better than android? Skill issue comments sounding more accurate now
After 14 years of android I went 2 years ago to a iPhone 15 and I do love it, but damn sometimes I miss android 😂. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great phone, but iOS is not as great as I thought. My next phone wil probably be a iPhone 18 and hopefully the keyboard wil be better 🎉😂
The move to ios app is jusy like IOS. Broken from its core
The most annoying part of the iPhone is the background task management. If you’re downloading a file or using AirDrop and the screen locks, it just stops. AirDrop is fine for a few files, but try sending hundreds or a large video—if it gets canceled, there’s no "resume" button. You’re back at zero.
They call these phones "Pro," but the moment you use them for a pro task like moving 50GB of footage, it all goes downhill. You’re forced to stay on the screen and watch it like a hawk.
Plus, sending media from Photos feels like a "double transfer." It spends ages "Preparing" (likely copying or converting) before the actual transfer even starts. It’s a massive waste of time for a flagship device.
"I have never sideloaded on android" lil bro never actually used his android why even let him make this video🤣🤣
Never actually sideloading is crazy is like the most basic android user thing, anyone has sideloaded an app that you don't know if its worth buying or just to get games for free. Insane that hes calling himself an android user but decided to raw dog all social media apps without mods like why tf is he acting like he is an android user like the rest of us when he is just a normie so it doesnt matter what phone he mains. This video is pointless.
Getting a used cheap ipone just for the events was an option too😢
iOS keyboard is crap but I have never once hit or even noticed the dictate button
ooh, look at me, I met with 10 people and now I have to get that contact sharing thingy.. Americans bro
no hate for you Elijah, you're cool, but this sounds ridiculous
I'm European and no one has ever color bubble discriminated me or had a fuss to give me their number
why is he yellow ? jaundice ?
You can dismiss control centre by swiping up from the bottom of the screen too, for what it’s worth. That’s what I’ve always done
I’ve tried a bunch of third party keyboards in the past and have always gone back to the default iOS keyboard, but I’m willing to try again.
What third party keyboard would people recommend?
Oh, no! Elijah drank the Cool-Aid!
When I switched to an iPhone 2 years ago, I didn't really notice any difference between it and Android. The biggest thing was the lack of physical buttons and the UI being a bit different.
I use my phone to occasionally receive a call or two and message friends & family a few times a week. Other than that, I mainly use it for watching videos.
Sure, a lot of apps load faster and work smoother than on my previous phone, but that was an Xcover 4s. I don't think that is in any way comparable to the 15 Pro.
I never really understood the whole "war" between Apple and Android users. The only thing I wanted from my phones in the past was to be able to make small repairs myself. And now that doesn't really matter since no matter whose phone you buy, opening and repairing it will be equally difficult.
I've only used Air Drop twice so far and both times were to send my father a picture without the image quality suffering like if I sent them through Whatsapp.
Other than that, I don't think I've really used any feature on the phone that I couldn't have on an equivalent Android.
Basically he got an iPhone as a business write-off, but had to make a video about it as an excuse.
"For a long time, I was aware of the problem of iPhone hegemony and the suffering it brought many people… but recently I found myself personally suffering from the problem, so I decided to become part of the problem, so I wouldn't have to personally suffer from it anymore, and it worked!"
Wow! How cool of you to do that!
So basically FOMO, right? lol
Keyboard – Just got to say, the keyboard got broken in iOS 26 and Apple refuses to talk about it. Since September it has been crap. Hopefully they fix it this year 🙂
10:46 Nah quick share and nearby share is much better
ios sucks big time
I was waiting for this vid
Now tell me. Do you miss charging ur phone 25 minutes for a full day usage? I am on OP11 now and I don't see myself moving to Iphone in near future, not until Iphone support at least 80w charging speed 😂
Brave, Foolish, but brave.
Edit: Elijah made some actual valid and good points. As a life long Android User, I can actually agree with most of what of what Elijah said. Main reason I probably won't switch (or might) is mostly because of Apple's business practices, allthough they're are improving here and there from what I've heard. But also I'm some random person in Sweden and not a content creator, nor someone that makes and maintains a lot of contacts in some industry.
In the end, you go with the same aprouch as with many other things (like pc's). The main questions are: What purpose does the device need to serve/fullfill? And What's the budget? and lastly i ugess, Any preferences?
it's a bit hard to justify the price of a pro max when i can get a Poco F8 ultra with better specs across the board other than camera for a third of the price
Dude is trying to cope buying an iPhone due to social pressure lol
Holy Linus bait 😅
For me, the reason I have an iPhone is because I have a macbook and airpods. I have airpods because I have a macbook and I have a macbook because I wanted a UNIX-like OS
how much did Apple pay to compromise you?
An Iphone feels like a toy compared to android.
Imo the way a restaurant looks is like the cover of a book like you walk by and look at it, not everyone looks at just reviews
AirDrop kinda sucks too though, I've tried it a couple of times and.. no progress bar, no status, what is happening, is it working? No? No error ?
WHY do people on this channel keep repeating that you can’t sideload on iOS????? You absolutely can. I am making this comment on a sideloaded app.
