I think the title should be what CPU to by with what overpriced ram.
You know the 14000 series can do DDR5 right?
Iโm running a 9700X and 5080, only use it for 4K gaming AAA titles manly and on a 55โ OLED TV. Got roasted for not going with the 9800X3D, which was over AU $400 more at the time ๐
It just ainโt worth it for my use case I think?
Ryzen 7 7700x: โAm I a joke to you??โ
It's Ryzen 9 9950X3D, not Ryzen 7 9950X3D, fix it.
What about the 7950X3D?
Yea.. my thoughts… The Intel 12400/12600F chips are barely over a $100 where I am and a decent MoBo can be had for another $99…
Would love for you to challenge yourself and build a next level looking pc. Not just a basic pc over and over. Even try water cooling maybe?. Anyone can now build to the level you do these days.
How expensive is ddr5 RAM 128 GB
Does disabling the CPUโs onboard GPU make the CPU run better? Please let me know! Cheers!
14600k hello?? 200 bucks and itโs just slightly slower than the 7600x on just ddr4 so I donโt get why that isnโt nr1 value wise
that s true if you play in 1080P…but what about playing in 2k or 4k…
Easy on the Adderall and aggressive rambling – I wanna like his videos but itโs so overwhelming all the damn time ๐๐ผ
I upgraded to the 7800x3d last summer and just don't see myself needing another CPU for a long time. AM6 may be out by the time I need and upgrade because it's so stinking fast.
Me watching this while having 5070ti and 9800x3d ๐๐
the 1080p bench mark needs to go if you are still on 1080p you need a new monitor not new cpu and i hate this benchmark cuz it makes people think there actually getting a better CPU show 1440p and 4k and you will see the money isn't worth it at all buying the x3d chips is pointless unless you want a single digit frame boost with anything above 1080p. Get a 9600x/9700x an spend the money on a better gpu that's all you will need Am5 FTW just for the upgradeability down the line.
Hey PcCentric is that your main rig in the video? I see itโs hard lined . Beautiful pc
I am excited for the eventual launch of Intel's Nova Lake supposedly at the end of this year (2026). Can't afford to build a new system until we sell our house and certainly dont need to build a new pc because what we have now works fantastic.
Currently have the following systems:
-AMD 5900XT – Nvidia PNY 3090 – Phanteks P600S case (upstairs pc)
-AMD 5900X – Nvidia Asus 5060 & Phanteks P400 air flow case (kiddos pc)
-AMD 5800X3d – AMD 6950XT & Lian Li 011 Dynamic Evo case full water cooled (downstairs pc)
-Intel 9900k – Nvidia MSI 3090 – Phanteks P600S case (wife's pc)
Looking forward to going back to Intel. AMD sometimes has odd quirks nobody in the YouTube tech-tuber sphere mentions in their glowing reviews. I will wait for the Intel Nova Lake cpu's to come out and watch reviews hoping they dont pull 250 watts while gaming or break down within a year like the 13 and 14 series.
Hopefully by the time Nova Lake launches A.I. insanity will have died down and prices will come down on RAM and storage drivers (and our house will have sold).
6 to 8 cores for gaming pfft, I have 16 cores and 96gb just so I can go on forums and say I have 16 cores and 96gb which doesn't leave me much time for gaming๐๐๐ I have overpowered PC to pay bills and surf the Internet but great when I can game
I started in 2020 with 3700x and 2070s, in 2024 i built into am5 i have a 7800x3d with 7900Gre and built an amd setup.
I went from a Ryzen 7700 to a 7800x3d. I have a 5080 and had a 9070xt. The 7700 was ok with the 9070xt however once I moved up to a 5080 I started to see more of a bottleneck. Even while playing 1440p. But for most people the 7700 is a great CPU for the money. Especially if you can find a good deal on Aliexpress.
best cpu for 5080? im playing both cpu- and gpu-bound games at 1440p ultra, including single threaded ones like minecraft, will also do some da vinchi resolve but gaming is most important, was thinking 7800x3d or higher
I JUST NEED THE 9600X3D MAN
I'm upgrading to 9800x3d found a good deal on scan with a motherboard cooler ram for 1000 pounds should I get upgrading from a 5700x GPU is 9060 xt 16g
I kept my PC middle of the pack with a i5 13600 KF paired with an RX 7800 XT. Oddball combo, but it works pretty well for the games I play
get the 9800X3D if you can, cheaper with lower power consumption and heat output then the new 9850X3D. with basically the same performance
Just bought a 9800x3d with crimson desert. I still need to get a new mobo and ram and SSD๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ. God help us
Dropping in a faster CPU is upgrade path, and it should enhance longevity. But platform longevity has more to do with support via BIOS, firmware, and driver updates for a given motherboard, irrespective of what CPU is installed. Terminology matters.
AI just made my childhood dreams of being able to build a PC a lot harder. Right now I'm just saving as much money as I can so that when the golden time where somehow ram and ssds get cheaper I can afford building one better.
Just got a 9850x3d and a 5090 system so Iโm very excited for it to arrive ๐
I started with ryzen 7 2700x & rx580, know running a ryzen 7 9800x3d with rx9070xt
Don't forget to mention that all the ryzen chips have a stuttering problem
In the end nobody needs a 9800x3d, very few people need a 7800x3d, a used 7600x for 120$ goes as fast in most games. If you need more multicore you don't need a x3d. Nonetheless I love x3d cpus, but I don't know why in the end, and all the people love them ๐
I have a 7800x3d with a 9070xt and would highly recommend it.
Great video!
Iโm using a 4090 for the time being should I still upgrade to the 9950x3d
I stream record edit and run dual monitor 4k or higher setup
