First one I had was Creative NOMAD MuVo 128MB. With this capacity, display was not needed and the sound was better than late mp3 players.

Wow how has LLT changed its identity. It has fundamentally betrayed hard working people who worked hard to get LTT to this point.
Now its corporation slop abusing the work of founder employees. And I get it linus, its all about the money now.
Just another corporation who does not care about employees anymore.
@ 12:41, regarding the Iomega HipZip, "No one bought this." I disagree. I bought one. In fact, I had two, because the first one broke! The thing was horrifically unstable and fragile. The slightest bump would cause it to 'skip' (like an old scratched CD). And the PC interface was garbage and took forever to load onto the media. This is the device that made me give up on MP3 players until I got my first iPod.
I hope to see a video soon where you guys get that last one working

Day 234 of requesting plouf to stop wearing the cap. We all know he is bald. The goblin ears sticking out because of the hat is the problem.
i miss ipods with FM tuner… thats the best when traveling the world….
DankPods hair is spectacular.
I've never seen the spring not being the negative terminal. Bro never used official xbox controllers
Hehehe ur ready for the nugget dip
fun fact: 🙂 When first iPod got out, Apple was sued by Creative for some UI patent infringement and Apple had to pay them 100m for licencing. After that Apple started suing everyone else 🙂
Your so young. Zip and click drives wired great and we're cheap compared to hard drive mp3 players. Never had issue with them when I was selling them back in thr day. Because it's dodgy now dosent mean it didn't work and sell well back in the day. Ah youngsters, you know nothing.
When is the best-of-the-not-an-iPod video coming out?
I have a lovely CD walkman from 1998ish (That's almost 4 years BEFORE the iPod folks) that would play user writable data CDs. . .it could play standard CD music, MP3, and Video CDs (not the same as DVDs. . . but it did require an external monitor/tv to do so) and it cost me, including import fees, less than $200! That's unlimited expandable storage, more playback options, it was in my hands and in my car almost half a decade before the iPod could be purchased, all at less than half the cost of the iPod (assuming you could get an iPod at retail price!)
(Yes kids, we were listening to mp3s before Napster existed. Ask your elders about trading music via IRC.)
Tbf sound cards are still needed for 5.1 over spdif unless you crack your bios

BEST COLAB EVER
Hmm, If ever you guys will do a repair attempt video for the Creative Nomad. I remember watching some years ago that the BIOS chips is what usually dead in the device and you just have to replace them and they would boot right back up.
you know you are ancient when you've used cd players that could read mp3 files.
you can tell this was filmed a while ago because he hasn't filled in the apple logo yet
As someone who uses an Audigy RX as their sound card, I get the sound card appeal.
I had a Verbatim mp3 player that took 8 cm CDs. In a world where other players were 128 MB those CDs could hold 210 MB and you could have several with you and swap. It even came with an in line remote with a display.
18:58 oh no, he's doing it again 😦
almost positive all this dynamic was a 30yo+ Mr. Show sketch?
So I was already looking at getting a new MP3 player, after not using one for nearly 10 years. Always been happy with the various ones I've worked through, the ease of use was way better than with the iPod (which my sister had), for which you were forced to go through iTunes, even if you wanted to put in your own MP3s
