So. This would kill for those that want a simplified, pre programmed (by buyer) scheme for the elderly (buyers parents). Few buttons, program the basics of what they need and use more often. Only thing I would have paired this with is a printable sticker template, and maybe a way to disable other buttons to prevent accidentally changing the device.
if it did that + simple printable template, I’d buy this in a heartbeat for my parents and grandmother.

I had that function on the remote for our salora vcr. It could record other remotes signals. There where like 16 exrra buttons just for this.
It was so smart, I have tried ti find something simular but no luck.
Steve Wozniak left engineering for Apple to make this not long after his head injury due to a plane accident which left him with short term re-occurring memory loss. He found it very difficult to stay focused on task during this time but eventually completed it. If I recall it was around then he decided to focus on music and teaching instead of engineering products.
