When we thought HDR was going to be a bigger part of our channel, we installed a bunch of miniLED PA32UCX displays in our editing den. We then proceeded to make about three HDR videos since then… So we’re side-grading to a higher resolution!

  1. The built in KVM and Thunderbolt power pass-through is huge, you can cut down on so much cabling. Great for people that have a workstation and a laptop. Or a LAN only workstation and a separate secure machine for web access.

  2. I love the pro art displays. I work in a school district and the high school art department wanted iMacs. Instead we got them Mac minis and the entry level 2K Pro Art monitors. Yes the resolution is much lower than the 5K they would have gotten but they got bigger screens and the whole setup is much cheaper than an iMac.

  3. STILL NO OLED?

  4. Ya'll do realize that "HDR" does NOT exist in nature. Its not "better" its just different. Film went through the ultra saturated/ultra contrast look <not to this extent, granted> decades ago. It died. If you're looking at a product, any product and it looks great on screen and you get it in person and, well, the color and look don't match, you're just going to be disappointed.

Yes, I did this professionally for almost two decades. Even a "bad" screen is already capable of more contrast and saturation than can exist in nature, even under bright sunlight. The biggest challenge in professional imaging is to MATCH reality. You match color, contrast and brightness. This is why ICC profiles exist. Why color meters exist and why COLOR SPACE is the first topic of concern to professionals.

Screw the HDR and screw the ultra resolution. You won't see either in real life. Ever.

  5. I have a 5K monitor, but since windows scaling compatibility with programs is so bad (menus mostly break) in a mismatch multiple monitor – laptop screen setup, I generally need to use a lower resolution to keep the fonts and menus readable. Anything higher than 1440p on a 27" monitor pixel pitch is a waste of money.

  6. Nice

  7. dimming zones aren't good for editing content tho

  8. background music annoying

  9. Could have got Peter's views when he remoted in to see if the monitor was better

  10. 9:15
Sesame Workshop has entered the chat

  11. wow perfect for uploading to youtube and get reencoded to limited color range 😀

  12. Hey Linus, I don't really expect you to read this, but I have a IPS monitor, ultrawide, with DCI-P3 of 95%, Delta E of under 2, bla bla bla (LG 34GN850), how does it compare to either the budget or the mainline Asus monitor? It cost me 700 bucks too lol

  13. 5:55 So what was like 1901 right?

  14. Can't remember an HDR ltt video what is he even on about

  15. Did you forget to grade the LOG footage at the start? It's very…. Washed out

  16. And no powerbrick! just a c13 plug! I love it!

  17. 2:40 Why are those monitors SO red?

  18. It is so weird, it feels like this video is an experience, and they've put some cringe AI generated short clips in this video, jokes usually.
I'm probably just too high atm.

  19. 11:23 Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar (or maybe Yuki Tsunoda)? 👀

  20. I would love to see 8k test with a PS5 since it "Advertises" 8K

  21. I was curious how close a 32 inch 8k monitor gets to standard print quality of 300dpi…
So simple math, but I am getting about 275 ppi both horizontal and vertical, assuming a standard 16:9 32inch screen size.
This is actually huge, as one of the biggest problems when designing for print is that pixel density in print is much higher than on screen, so to view by pixel on screen you have to massively zoom in, and then can't see the entire image.

Side note, the last time I had a monitor stand that was that versatile… it was actually from HP, literally 26 years ago.

  22. integratet kvm is awesome as a gaming monitor that would be good more devices on one display

  23. I'm still happy with 1080 at 120hz

  24. so mkbhd gives all his workers xdr displays from apple and you give yours Asus, cheap ass

  25. 60hz to edit 120hz footage wow

  26. I work at a FedEx warehouse in America, so those 4 stickers on the face of the box just reminded me of work and a VERY specific glitch in the “process,” lol. Lovely to know things are internationally consistent.

  27. 7:38 did you say "She is heavy a boy"? That's why people don't use "she" for objects.

  28. 11:21 lol Linus is literally Todd Chavez irl

  29. Asus PA32KCX, Asus knew what they were doing

  30. I just cannot even comprehend what something above 4k looks like. I'm still rocking 1080p 144hz, but even that isn't very competitive anymore, you kind of need 1440p at +144hz for FPS

  31. Oh look, an other ASUS sponsored video. I'm skipping it, tired of those.

  32. 12:37 Not an 8k screen, but a vector screen !
Pixels will be outdated in 20 years !

  33. is the jet still in DC?

  34. i was wondering why your colour accuracies where off lately.
