I sometimes smile when I see techtubers say that if you can afford a flagship CPU, you'll definitely be gaming at 4K. They forget that path tracing is too demanding these days, and that indie devs are made easy with Unreal Engine 5, with all its convenience and beautiful graphics, but at the cost of poor performance.
You have to enable DLSS 4.5 performance. This is where X3D excels, something Intel failed to catch up on and improve.

So is it just a diminishing return on the amount of cache without any architectural improvements? I wonder how it'd compare on a 6090 when that comes out. But even a 5090 is still probably not being used 100% at 1080p with these chips..?

Ok so are you selling the intel cpu or is there a downside like bad thermal management or something???? motherboard costs more, something???? 600USD savings feels like there has got to be a tradeoff here. I have bought almost exclusively amd cpus since the 1990s so I am very curious how this intel chip can be taking the "this costs less and is basically the same" market that amd use to take. Spec wise the x2d dual is indeed a much stronger speced cpu with far more cache and tdp I have a feeling its likely for reasons of life not being pushed as much as it can be in its standard config. I do think these fuel and materials shortages may catch up.. I am really curious how intel is using like 3nm design while the dual is like up to 4nm design, curious… I thought we were at th 2nm wafer point this year – looks like maybe 2030 before it becomes standardish. its note like they are huge size regardless…
