FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE CONSIDERING THE MACBOOK NEO
Its good to keep in mind that the macbook neo is only good value if you live in western countries. If you're anywhere near asian or have the means to import products, i'd reccomend lenovo's ideapad pro, or xiaoxin pro (product name for mainland china) laptops. They offer great build quality,a 2.8K 120hz oled screen that would pimp slap the macbook neo's any day of the week, more than enough horse power (usually with 8th gen ryzen or similar), 24gb of highspeed ddr5 (non upgradable on some models but so is the macbook neo), 1tb of ssd space or more, and amazing battery life (ranging from around 7 hours to well over 10-12hours of use depending on the cpu variant and use case). The macbook neo only has an definitive edge on webcam quality, and speakers ( though the xiaoxin's speakers are pretty darn good for window laptops ). i've seen arguments saying the targeted demographic of non enthusiasts and students don't need all of that, to that i'd say its good to keep in mind, that more, is still more, you're paying around the same amount of money, no reason for you to choose the objectively worst product.

I know this is petty, but until I can move the minimize, maximize, and close buttons to the top right, I won't use MacOS. It drives me insane as someone coming from Linux and Windows.
Surprised by the quality, speed and performance of the Neo – as my daughter’s new computer it is so much faster than the device she had before and it just works with everything.
The most under hyped feature is the iPhone Mirroring and seamless integration, she just moves her iPhone near the Neo and it magically appears on screen allowing full interaction.
All it really needs is some more IO and a touch screen, eh John Ternus.
It’s essentially an iPad running OSX – Now if they enabled OS switching to flip between Mac OS and iPad OS on the fly – that really would be an unbeatable product.
I have never once in my life cared if I could open a laptop with one finger. What a worthless metric. Also the MacBook has MacOS which is such a horrible UI to me. I'd rather use the Chromebook

Id like to see a followup of the NEO vs Used Macbooks/windows laptops. Used/Reburb M1s are pretty appealing, not to mention used windows laptops. This price point has always been a problem for windows pcs, mostly garbage/barely passable computers or "high end" chromebooks. Immient threat being, used X1 carbons or other enterprise laptops starting as low as 100-200

Macs definitly have a better quality case than other laptop. But this comparison of the flex with much bigger laptops? And then furiously smashing the trackpad of the dell while softly stroking the mac? What does that tell me?
I couldn't care less about the laptop lid needing two hands to open. Single finger opening is not a feature, for me.
I'd get a Chromebook any day for a normal daily use

I do not get this obsession with "ooh I can open my laptop with one finger"??? Like what is it? Why does everyone focus on that so much? As long as the screen stays when you angled it to be and the hinges aren't failing what is the point? Is it just that people tend to be lazy? Someone explain please.
