We got an exclusive first look at the 2026 ASUS Strix SCAR 18. An absolute beast of a Laptop featuring top-tier hardware. Being a pre-production unit however, we had our hands tied and could only look at the display… Which also happens to be the best display a Laptop has ever seen.

Im sorry i trust rog with laptops due to their rma process being scummy
I just saw a vid about how great crt was
I think I stay by my combination of MacBook Neo and Lenovo Legion 9Pro. ^^
We've gone full circle. CRT clarity in flat panels now
So it emulates a CRT. Cool.
Windows Update: I Am comiiiing
60fps linus doesnt exist. He cant hurt you.
When are people finally looking at rolling black frame insertion?
Shame they can’t make a laptop hinge that breaks with light use and costs $200 for the part.
my cheap kogan 1440p 180hz 0.1ms led gaming monitor shows the ufo dude so much more clearly than your comparion stills (aka no ghosting at all)….. so this pulsar tech aint that amazing.
I still fundamentally don't understand pulsar, "motion clarity," or any advantage to CRTs besides the image quality. I also don't understand why a camera sees blur that looks like smearing rather than discreet, overlapping images. surely a camera filming at above 240 hz would basically not see blur at all on that OLED?
I had a 2024 model, I had to remove the liquid metal and apply MX-7 thermal paste because it was hitting 110 degrees C
Miniled isnt smoother and responsive than oled.
Yeah, but did they get rid of the normal Asus gaming stutter? Do people actually game at full birghtness? I'm generally at 40-65% brightness even on my 27" oled monitor when not using my OLED legio 7i Pro.
I hate Asus
Whenever I touch an Asus hardware it destroys itself. Not sure why 🙁
So many new technologies for things you won't notice if you're not looking for it
can all of your videos be 4k 60fps?
24 cores, but only 8 p cores , the whole 16 e cores is stupid
can i have it linus?
Now I'm imaging what a laptop would look like with a CRT screen instead. 🤣
A waste of 💰.
Honestly in 2026. I don't care if it is 3-4 inches thick while folded, and can actually cool it's hard are at max power draw for more than idk ….. 10-30 seconds…..
WOOHOO
WHEN I FEEL HEAVY METAL
Everyday we stray further and further away from SFX and closer to “SFX that has enough time to save data when the power goes down”
Can't wait to buy it when someone sells it for $200 on eBay after 3 years
pretty smart

Are there any monitors that use ELMB technology out?
Where's the valorant gameplay
make a 32" 4k monitor like this ffs not a damn laptop…
As someone who is extremely sensitive to ELMB, I’d like to try this panel in person to see if i can see the flickering…
Asus's QA is so horrid from my experience I don't know if i can trust their hardware ever again honestly
Thanks for using 60fps video on new display tech reviews. It really helps the experience of the video.
Now compare then to a 120Hz OLED with BFI and they both lose.
