We were pretty impressed with the Comma 3x when we first tested it last year, so we decided to stick Linus in a Toyota Corolla long-term so he could test out the Comma AI’s active driver assistance over several months. There were some ups and downs!

"Driving in my car, right after a beer!
My dad runs away from me in fear!
DUI? How about you…"
Neuroserati intensifies.
I swear an Audi from 2010 could do all of this
This bro just can't forget how he meet Torvalds himself and constantly showing it off xD
When I had mine I thought the colors meant co offense in its predictions.
Well, Linus, you're spot on with "more work" – you are, in essence, acting as a driving instructor for it the entire trip to and from the office.
Of course it feels like more work – because it straight up is. Instead of driving and adhering to traffic & traffic laws, you're evaluating the AI real-time AND correcting its mistakes real-time.
As a side note, that start acceleration is total garbage, it drives like a confused grandma :(.
The shirtless + earbud driving threw me so off!!! It both things are forbidden in Spain and I believe most of Europe
Commutes are already stressful…this seems to make it more stressful
Ahaha, his kids are something else.
32 years driving manual here in the UK, some good some bad. My concern with this kind of tech is what you repeatedly stated, "be ready to take over" i use a simple set the speed and go on the motorway which allows me to take my feet away from the pedals. However I'm always slightly concerned that I'm ready should something urgent happen right in front, will i get my control back quick enough. For me, this tech has to be better than me, save my family by taking all that data and predicting and acting faster than i could.
15:05 I k is you complain about Tesla autopilot for its name- but that’s exactly how autopilot in an airplane works.
Funny. I was researching these last night and Linus drops a video
Linus Chest Tips
Ugh linus. This is terrible dude.
When you are testing "experimental" tech and you allow it to run on yellows lines and other things on public roads. Shame.
You have money to have run this on private tracks or roads.
Best case scenario.
Worst case this thing could have hard lefted into oncoming traffic on a split decision and even with user correction might not have been sufficient.
Very irresponsible.
I did a cross country drive with one of highway driving in that trip was awesome for me.

Car: green light, let's go!!
Car in front turning left: I DGF!!!
Lol I loved the cat facts segment, she's right about the advantages
Idk what the driving laws in Canada are but I'd advise as a courtesy to other motorists to put a sign on the back of the car letting drivers behind you know you are testing a self driving car feature and to take extra care around you?
Linus here just explain what software engineers felt for the past year
Your girl's cat facts are good and I am here for it!
I fumbled saying your channel name, I said Lin-us tech tips but switch the p in tips with a t.
10:18 I think every video would benefit from a section of you answering your kids questions about the newest toy you bring home
bro drives a toyota……..
Great straight forward video on self driving, just pure testing
22:45 – Yeahhhh! Linus… well Linus Sebastian anyways should give a EV AI… 'self-driving' round-up and see what ordinary folks instead of investors think about it – before, during, and after expeeiencing it.
Different 'self-driving' tech plays differently.
This looks like it’s about as capable as autopilot was around 2020. You really should try this with a Tesla. It’s not perfect, but the layers of safety it adds and reduced driver strain are invaluable
7:58 linus just described to most of us what AI does to skilled work
20:45 – That doesn't really seem that way from here, its getting there though… Progress.
interesting way to learn i commute the same roads as linus… wonder if ive ever cut him off
OK, now try try one of the new 2026 kias with their lane assist, I promise you won't be disappointed.
18:20 – Linus mini debating Linus on semantics of the laws.
Was that first sponsor roll a Thundercat reference?
That's a deep dive test, I liked it.
Why am I watching this commercial for the fifth time already!? Give me moooooore!!!
14:56 – Is that due to it using his car's native driver assist features, ex. Cruise Control, since cruise control works like that when engaging disengage?
This is one of tue coolest ltt videos ever holy
not thanks, maybe in 5 years
This thing feels like the A770: it might have its issues but you want to see it get better and succeed. I’m not even that big of a self driving fan (even though I think it’s on the grand scheme safer) but this thing is somehow impressive even if I’d be stressed out AF if I had to try it (I also did enjoy this format of video)
I just watched Linus backseat an AI driver
I wonder if the slow acceleration is in part down to the car's cruise control system. In my car, if I increase the set CC speed, it takes a moment to start climbing (presumably to avoid accidental presses), and when it does go up, it's far slower than hitting the accelerator pedal.
I don't think these self driving techs will ever be for me. I'd always be anxious about it because I won't trust it. It'll give me more mental stress than just driving myself 😅
"Ideal driving conditions" and "Richmond" should never be in the same situation.
