Not all of us 'grown-up boys' can afford to pay what would be 6 weeks of full 100% income
Dell xps 13…
If they put a core ultra 5 then they win
> Decent rigidity
> outstanding chassis rigidity
While showing the body of the laptop beeing bent like cardboard.
Those laptops are designed to be IA terminals, for use of IA agents, like Jensen said. Nothing more.
that 8 GB RAM will be usable if we switch to Linux, though.
I am sorry be that guy but man they all run windows and that's gonna suck. I got my parents Macs a few years ago mostly cus they kept complaining about their computer and all their complains were about windows (they didn't know that but I could tell it was all windows things like updating whenever it wants, search not working)
Damn those laptops all flex and bend like wet noodles…
seems like my buy in 2024 nov was very inspired lol
i bought an open box asus vivobook s16 oled hx 370 32gb ram 1tb storage, 3200×2000, 120hz, rgb full keyboard for….750 bucks, open box.
given amd is only rebranding stuff these days, i basically have an hx 470 lol and a laptop like this costs at least 1500 bucks.
it's 1.5 kg metal chassis, btw. for a 16 inch!
okay jet boy
I don’t think manufacturers give a shit about 1 finger opening lol.
How is that a sign of good attention to detail and quality
5:21 "Brank The Bank" lol
Cause not all people needs super powerful laptops but only able to last 3-4 hours due to gpu consumption.
I did not have Linus channeling his inner Uruk-hai and putting affordable PCs back on the menu on my bingo card for this Computex.
8 GB of RAM for windows machines is out of the question.
it works for macOS cause of their incredible ram compression technology
0:11 It's crazy how if you remove the logo from a laptop, they would all be indistinguishable from each other
That dell xps has me interested
Conclusion: they make price announcements with the Intel series 3 while they compare the series 5 to the Neo. That means, the Neo for 699€ will outperform the same priced PC. And by the time those PC are really available, we'll be almost having the Neo 2 with a much higher performance and 12 GB of RAM 😂
4:00 4:56 and you call this "decent rigidity"? My bed sheets are better than this
Windows has to wake up though… 8gb cannot be used at 90% with only Spotify open. And if you start the Microsoft Systinternals utility for the ram, cleaning it drops to 50%!! Literally Windows 11 never cleans the ram!
Windows 10 didn't have this problem!
1:46 look ma, I'm famous (it had to be THAT meme, too..! 🙈)
Gaming needs to be made as approachable and affordable as possible, so as cool as the numbers on those intel handhelds might be, at 1.5k+, they're too expensive and niche for the vast majority of people… I'll stick with my Z1E ROG ally, thank you vary much, because at 700€ when I bought it, like 3 years ago, it might be less significantly less performanct than these G3 devices, or even Z2E devices, but the performance per dollar turns out to not be any worse, and while I may not get 11h of gaming at low tdp, I have gotten 7-8h of use at low tdp, thanks to a battery upgrade I made early this year, to the 67wh jsaux kit, so for all I know if I ever upgrade to an 80wh battery, 10+h on the really lightweight indie stuff might be in the realm of possibility (between purchase and mods, ie jsaux battery kit and 2tb ssd, pre rampocalypse, I'm about 1k€ all in, and in the realm of electronics pricing between € and USD tends to be fairly 1:1, if not higher in europe, though here all are prices have sales tax included, while I don't think that's the case for announced pricing in $. I mention this because, depending on the exact battery and storage config of these things, I genuinely might be better off with my 3 year old device, than these new latest gen ones, in terms of the overall experience vs the total investment, and we're talking about small GPUs, so while the performance uplift may be significant vs my Ally, I doubt it would be transformative, especially at close to double the price)
What we need to see more of, as unsexy as they may be, is more devices in the performance class of the Z1E, 16gb of ram, and as low of a price point as possible, because these types of devices will stay vary niche otherwhise, and especially at such high pricepoints
As for the intel laptops, 8gb of ram in 2026 is a bummer, but hey, if intel open source drivers are good, I might still be interested, if only because I intend to slap linux on that bad boy, where ram is (slightly) less of a concern, and my use case for this class of laptop is light workloads (like web browsing), and the occasional light gaming,
Considering 6 months ago I got a 32GB DDR5 AMD Ryzen 7 350 Oled screen 1TB and metal chassis for £700, this doesn't seem like the great news it seems to be.
$1000 laptops are expensive… but that doesn't mean $500 is affordable…
And this happened right after I bought my laptop with all the compromises and a high price tag 😅😅 Well at least there is improvement
The intel x nvidia partnership has me conerned about Xe. I've heard future Xe is pretty much cancelled, and intel will be bring out chips is nvidia based GPUs
It's time to stop smoking the copium that RAM prices are going to go back down or that this isn't the new baseline for tech pricing. RAM cost don't even feasibly justify most the price increases.
When are these laptops releasing?
And this is why people should always celebrate competition.. yes the shock was needed
Frame-book neo when?

the entire video is an ad
So they copy Apple. It won’t help. The OS sucks so bad these days.
I'm afraid the consumers are getting stuck to pre built machines for give or take 2 years more, unless if there is a AI collapse sooner
what a B$ … windows "premium feel" notebooks with igpu have been in this price for a while, nothing new. Actually showing windows laptop with 8 gb ram is kinda crippled. Look at this, I have huawei D14 – aluminium chasis, backlit keyboard, intel core i5 1135G7 (it can do some light gaming LD) with 8 GB ram, whole day on battery…. and it was about 600$… 6 years ago
did I miss the resolution on there laptops? if its not close to retina then its a no buy simple as that
PC-Book Neos come with a Copilot key so, nope. No. No. No. No. Just no.
