A test bench usually means power, cooling, and tools at your fingertips. But what do you do when the hardware you need to validate pulls over 100,000 watts?
ASUS sponsored us to tour their data center R&D lab, where they develop and torture test their enterprise AI server hardware. We got our first look under the hood of a liquid cooled GB300, stepped inside a 40C server oven, and found out why their chiller is less chill than it should be.

  1. 5:26 funny to see a Siemens CC Panel on the screen. I hate this software

  2. Idk man, I just can’t enjoy these videos anymore. It used to be that this stuff was cool and interesting as it’s seeing the future of hardware and making the world better, more accessible. But nowadays it’s the complete opposite, where things are increasingly becoming artificially inaccessible and walled off. It just doesn’t interest me anymore watching crazy hardware when even the simplest of hardware is now out of reach for most people and only getting worse. Trying to be excited about some corpo flexing their hardware doesn’t land when it feels like the world is being increasingly made less human. It’s just tone deaf… love LTT content, just not videos like this anymore. Inaccessible tech videos showing crazy stuff used to land because accessible stuff was plentiful, made it then more about excitement of the game and hobby. Now though, people are feeling the squeeze and you just can’t get excited about it. It’s like having food shortages and being on rations, only to watch a video hyping up how cool all these kitchens are that experiment creating new recipes from ingredients that used to be commonly available but are now a scarcity because some rich people decided so. The modern world seems to be more about creating more problems than solving them in the interest of profit, and less built for us humans that all occupy it.

  3. Boy oh boy can't wait to get a massive center in my neighborhood to ruin all of the water and dry everything up not to mention the heat and how not awsome a massive facility will look.

  4. Nice rack bro.

  5. I have a feeling of déjà vu.
Oh yeah, Alex already made a video about this, and I'm way more happy to support him that you now.

  6. why is no one says anything about thumbnail?

  7. THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT, BUT TECHNICAL FEEDBACK: I got an ad at 2:06. I know your channel isn't a fan of mid-roll ads. You've evolved and expanded well beyond mid-roll ads. It's like $16.12 (USD) to Scott Tenorman.

  8. 9:02 I was laughing my azz of here
As the normal summer tem here(in India) is around that range only

    And what a coincidence
9:38 you mentioning India here of all the countries

  9. Great, so not only is AI taking our electricity and jobs, it's now also taking our water …

  10. Sorry but you want me to give a fuck? What does this do again? Use enough power to run my whole home for weeks so that it can generate slop? Great! Am sorry for being a spoil sport but AI and anything to do with it is so hard to get excited about

  11. 7:05 $20k USD is a drop in the bucket for a company like Asus, I'm surprised they even worry about it.

  12. Linus lost 1:01 in backrooms

  13. I remember these videos being exciting, now it's about how flammable the building is during the uprising.

  14. I wonder when he'll move on to the nividia NVL72 GB300

  15. ASUS: we can't sell to gamers any more, the industry collapses!
ASUS server division: we exist, look at how cool we are! notice us, senpai~

  16. Yeah folks they sells data centers the slop machine and eats up all y'all's water source.

  17. Wonder when I can start getting used gb200 for my homelab…

  18. Who are using Asus servers?

  19. That thumbnail made me so uncomfortable 😰😰

  20. this is totally applicable to me!

  21. The next time hollywood does another movie with a super server, they better have a tech tuber in it showing it off and reviewing it.

  22. So did Linus and Alex get, like, a couples discount on this tour…?

  23. 1:03 are these fans here just because? 😂

  24. NVIDIA and other big tech can always sleep easy knowing Linus will launder their reputation.

  25. 6:49 thank you for your immense maturity in this moment.

  26. Wow, this is cool and depressing. I hate AI and data centers ;/

  27. 6 7 ? 🙂

  28. Many ways to burn money .

  29. And yet we got Armory Crate…

  30. holy shit, that floor panel being a milled (looking) metal piece is kind of nuts… and expensive looking

  31. Wow, selling the Asus now as the enterprise hardware? Did we get to the point that we'll sell anything if they pay enough??

  32. 2:07 – Damn! I have definitely been out of IT for too long for this conversation. I'm gonna keep listening, but I'll just sit over here in the corner and feel dumb.

  33. arent you ashamed of advertising what keeps us (gamers) away of hardware?

  34. I'm planning how I will use the surplus hardware I can buy for pennies on the dollar after the collapse.

  35. to hell with Nvidia and AMD, Intel was our last hope!

  36. All this so I can vibecode a flappy bird game with ads and a subscription to the play store

  37. this video sound way more compread

  38. AI Data center glazing?

  39. This would be cool if ram was affordable…

  40. You should do a Test Bench "bench" 🪑

  41. 10:31 this looks just like Openmediavault's webgui, or is that just how Debian looks?

  42. Why cant we use the heat coming off these systems to produce power?
