With open-plan workspaces, shared offices, and only a handful of meeting rooms, it can be a real challenge to find a quiet space to take a call or just work without distractions. Call pods are a solution, but the prices seem so high! Couldn’t we just make our own?

This is a first world problem…
I just Googled my office pod and found out it cost 16 thousands Euro. I am amazed.
I still think it's a win because all the meeting pods that I've seen are shit, I hate having to sit in one, on the other hand this one looks good, the sound blocking seems to be much much better
Seeing the polish of this version and how much was wasted by plan A vs plan B, I think it was very much a success!
Reply my message ! We gonna my our own entire whole free open source
Come on guys, you guys still cannot catch me ? I try to boot my window machine ! But the window are not working right ! It was missing 1 part !
We had meeting pods at Amazon. It was really private. Only you, the people on the other end of the call, and everyone in the immediate vaccinity of the pod can hear the conversation.
I'm pretty confident that the problem goes away when you work remotely.
The first time I saw these I laughed at how ridiculous it is. Now I look at them and … laugh harder.
….says the guy with a private jet 😂😂😂
Yeah, a quiet spot next to a workshop sounds awesome to me. While the machines are buzzing, I could do some CAD work in a clean air space, perfect 👌🏻
So this means he is goin to built his own privet jet?
Should have just used composite sandwich panels. Could have done it faster, cheaper and with a nicer finish.
Could you do a video about that Syil l2 in the background perhaps
Jordan was sad Af because of all the work he had to do, the he became happy af after he saw his check 😂😂
Meeting Pods are too expensive….
Let me buy a private jet instead.
I think for future DIY video, you could try to plan ahead or make a trial attempt before attempting to make the whole thing. This way, you could probably seperate between R&D cost (planning, designing, etc.) and the actual labor cost of making 1 DIY unit. Also another thing i suggest you to hire a contractor as well and compare the result between the commercial product and the DIY one.
Successfully failed.
I see Elijah with the Bathys Headphones, good taste.
Now the question becomes what about upgrading it?
or roof(weather) proofing them 😛
Glue and nails? Have you ever heard or SCREWS? Take a decent stainless steel 2 inch screw with Torx head and you will have good times building it – but also no problem it you decide to make changes later. You know that screws can be unscrewed and they'll come right off. They wont take up time waiting for the glue to dry nor do they come undone like nails.
Nails < Screws
Big advantage, the first took long cause there was a lot of things to figure out, if you need another one it will be way faster to build…
i built my wife a she shed for about 10×10 it was about 2k but that has full electric institution drywall roof and windows ..although, i love the dove tails id never do that just use brackets
Way back when, these were called oversized phone booths! And we had to pay a dime for the privilege of spinning a rotary dial for the telephone number. Funny how these pods are making a comeback with RTO initiatives and office hotelling. So you can make the same zoom call to coworkers who live on the other side of the continent, only this time you waste an hour in bumper to bumper traffic and pay $25 for parking instead of doing it from your home office. Yay!
Well It's a tech tips. It sure landed on the genre
No. Gloves. With. Rotary. Tools.
I'm surprised you didn't start with some kind of shed that has the rough dimensions you wanted and just alter it.
I always know its gonna be a great video when Jordan is in the intro
What are they feeding these guys???
mans like i cba to do that XD
Episodes like this make me wonder if DIY is part of what I liked about this channel to begin with.
I think this project is like a lot of DIY things – if someone already has a good detailed blueprint for you to follow, the time / cost tradeoff is nice… but if you have stumble through it in any way the economics start to fall apart (unless you're doing it for the love of the project).
he needs another private plane. he can build a diy sound box there tok
I've never been so jealous of someone before. Paid to build your own antisocial pod to get work done better?! 😂 i need the job and the pod!
Honestly the amount of hours isn't bad considering they had to design it, start making it, pivot and then finish making it. The thing with fabrication and install is that the more they do it the faster they get so a first time build/install doesn't seem that bad?
