I can't get in my Head how and why you still used SD Cards in 2026 as a Professional Production Company. Using multiple FX6 Cameras, before that using, Blackmagic Cameras and RED Cameras, I never had tought that you cheaped out about the Storage Media in your Cameras. Thats the last thing where I would try to save money.
Jokes on you, my phone that I bought on 2023 (new 2020 model on sale) can't even read the SD card due to the sd card reader part of the sim tray being faulty haha…..😭
I still don't understand why OPT for Compact Flash when a lot of modern cameras allow recording to ssds which would theoretically be longer lasting and transfers over usb c would alos provide the necessary performance
I use a samsung ssd with my blackmagic cinema 6k and it has been one of the most peaceful setups for me

I've had luck getting sharpie off a whiteboard by going over it in proper white board marker, the rubbing it off, might take two or three goes but it's worked enough I encourage others to try it!

9:03 That’s almost definitely Ubiquiti. There’s a bug in their system requiring you to sign in literally every single hour. I think a fix will be out soon, though. At least on the web interface, particularly for the local only connections. It’s super annoying.

Create a seperate pool on the server for ingest and set up cascading copy jobs from there to the editing server.
If you also create a lifetime on the ingest pool, everything get‘s deleted from there after 3-5 days for example, clearing up room for more cards

I'm ambidextrous with using a mouse, but not for the joke reason Adam made. My dad was left handed, and had the mouse on the computer set up on the left side so I had to use a lefty mouse as a child
I believe you could use robocopy to improve transfer performance (and reliability) compared to using file explorer. Less user friendly initially but you could set up some transfer scripts to simplify it. If that's a valid solution to the workflow it may be worth a shot. That's how I've personally copied files off drives into Windows machines in the past after getting frustrated with file explorer crashing during transfers

CF died as it was too feavile… The pins in the camera, esoecislly Canon and Pentax, broke all the time. Some even came out eith the card.
I don't think the majority of memory card corruption/failures are from just wearing out of the drive tbh. So knowing the "health" of the drive isn't that useful.
The only thing I would recommend would be redundant recording in the camera to two cards and keeping the backup card untouched and if you loose footage on one card read the data from the second card from the actual camera as half of the time the corruption is caused by moving the card from one card interface (the camera) to another (sd card reader).
