We’re already planning the Tech House home theater room, but we never did get around to adding any sound treatment to Linus’ personal movie room at his house! Today we’re finally setting him up properly with some DIY acoustic panels made of rockwool (and some optional sonopan) on the walls and ceiling. We’re using the mirror trick to determine where they should go, and testing the results using Room EQ Wizard. Featuring Dan and DMS!

Only if your protection in the house is set up correctly!! Earth Leakage will save your life, a 10 A breaker will not. Many older homes don't have earth leakage on the lighting circuits.

What would be more interesting some 'blind' test on 5..6 users pre-upgrade after upgrade. Can they really 'hear' the difference on some 3 or 4 movie sample clips, that every person decides which sounded better.
As assumptions that you know that there was an 'pro grade' sound tuning upgrade and it should now sound better so your brain automatically thinks that way is another big topic.
Are DMS and Dan brothers or cousins or something? Their mannerisms and speech patterns are very similar…
Meanwhile me with headphones: I dont know any of these problems.

you should give tech the Rudan Brothers treatment.
you just know that this is by far the most underutilized space in that house and every time they want to film there they have to move out all the random junk they put in there because its most useful role is a pseudo-storage room.

Honestly Linus, just buy the Colosseum at this point. It has incredible acoustics.
Interesting that it took this long to treat and room correct this setup. Wish this would have touched on sound defusion vs absorption. Room treatment is a rabbit hole that can eat up a ton of $. It would have been better to room correct the receiver before and after the room treatment, but this works for a youtube video. Was there any discussion of draping wavy curtains on the walls?
