I never had a problem with Windows ME or Windows Vista (ultimate), they worked perfectly fine for me.
XP and 7 get to highly regarded because people focus on the end version of it and ignore all the issues with launch, but yes eventually they were good and the last good version of Windows was 7 Ultimate (the one I had) and no operating system has been as good that I have tried yet.

I really hope that, given the high hardware prices and the lack of interest in migrating to Windows 11, Microsoft will switch Windows 10 ESU updates to lifetime support.

Does anyone else think it’s hilarious that I genuinely wish I could downgrade to windows 10 because when combined with edge it actually unlocked 2k and 4k streaming from various streaming apps? Like yeah yeah I can always sail the seas but sometimes I just want to watch some shit that doesn’t take up any (increasingly expensive) hard drive space. I low key miss windows 10.
And also, I feel like this video genuinely misses the amazing gameplay experiences I had from 98 to xp to 7 to 10 and 11 that until extremely recently I could NOT get anywhere else. Nobody was running tribes 2 on dos or Linux. Nobody was playing half-life or counter strike anywhere else. Windows 10 literally had halo 5 multiplayer for free in the windows store and nobody knew. STEAM??? I could prattle on but they also turned my pc in to an Xbox which meant I could seamlessly game with everyone I had ever met.
This is like when you compared windows to a Linux install and didn’t load a debloated windows. Would Linux have still whipped its ass? Sure. But let’s be so for real, you’re comparing people who just buy a Hyundai to people who build their own track cars. It’s not the same thing. And I have 30 years of amazing memories and even deeper and more amazing friendships that were created because of gaming and Microsoft enabled it all.
Hate ‘‘em all you want. They were there for us and they made it easy for the plebs to drop in with us and become our favorite people.
Let us all endeavor to not be techno snobs.

25 years later and I'm STILL haunted by the XP startup sound. SHUDDER!
win 98 , XP , 7 …thats all we need. I remember when windows 10 was so trash i couldn't install it because it couldn't handle nvidia GPUs when you had different speed monitors… so i had a 144 and a 60 and windows just somehow introduced a permanent stutter that made both screens go ~10fps
