I love that Linus made this video but in the same vain I hope they did it for a meaningful reason because honesty daughter deserves something nicer than a Note 10. The phone doesn’t even get software support of any kind at this point

Yeah my battery poped too, since the back was whole sides too….Metal Body Redmi 4.
Where screen and whole body attachment are near each other.
And I thought battery poped the whole body, but it was just the screen. And I broke the screen.
Thankfully before that I had installed custom rom, magisk, permanent adb access on my PC to use scrpy and get screen sharing, ssh using termux and adb commands.
Also enabled auto turn on phone when in charging.
So broken screen didn't made things much worse.
Tho without battery just on power phone can't turn on

Millionaire haggling an old woman in rural area trying to make a living for their family.
He's so cheap! I am all for kids learning but he can afford to get his daughter a newer phone that she wants! The other two were in a video together and they both got a Samsung S25 Edge.
I own a Galaxy Note 10+ and recently I got the same issue. Battery turned into a spicy pillow. Fortunately ifixit still provided replacement battery. I don't daily drive it but it has 2 of my favorite features and I use it for certain apps which I don't want to have on my S25 Ultra and they are only available on my iPhone 12 Pro Max but I already traded it in for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The best thing about my Galaxy Note 10+ is that it doesn't run OneUI 8 which removed the possibility of unlocking bootloader and flash custom firmware like I did where my 10+ runs OneUI 7 custom firmware.
And the best feature is the MicroSD slot which my Galaxy S25 Ultra doesn't have anymore and I was forced to get it with 1tb internal storage 🙃
Had a S22 with the same problem, antenna cable broke when the battery expanded, tried getting a replacement for the cable but either it would break again when installing or be nearly impossible to buy one where I live (Mexico City).
Ended up accepting my phone became a mini tablet and made the choice to get a refurbished new phone (no more Samsung in my life).
I had this exact problem in this exact phone. Bought it for pennies because it had these problems.
The flex cables are pretty much cardboard. The solder points crack and get loose with the heat and vibrations from normal use. Sometimes you can fix it for a while placing something puffy between the back panel and the connection points. I used a few layers of electrical tape at first. It woked for about 2 years before the solder points in the connectors were so broken that they were already ripped apart from the rest of the flex cable. After removing (not unplugging… the part that plugs was stuck in the motherboard connector) the flex cable, I had to carefully remove every piece that belonged to the flex but that was stuck in the motherboard plug. Finally, I changed the antenna flex and the whole wireless coil, because the same part contains the thermistor, which won't let you charge the phone if it thinks it's too cold or hot (and since the solder points are kinda broken, it thinks it's very very very much one of those things).
After changing those 2 components, I could still use my original battery, but of course I changed it because it's way better to have a newer one.
So nice to see her attitude on camera and her attitude about the problem 😂🎉 good parenting dude🎉
