“Pro” is not an upgrade. It’s the phone they actually designed. The standard/lite version is the deliberately damaged one. Manufacturers design one full-spec device, the amount of RAM, the display refresh rate, the camera pipeline, the sustained performance they intend. That configuration becomes the Pro. Then they intentionally subtract: less RAM, locked 60 Hz, weaker sustained clocks, fewer camera modes, sometimes even less storage and sell that as the “normal” phone so the Pro looks like a justified premium

Agree, no need for Pro Pixels. The normal pixel is always fine.
I love my Pixel 8 that I got when they went on sale after Pixel 9 came out. I could have got a 9 Pro but there was no point.

I don't understand the point of the sign language to text thing. If a person can sign, they can usually type. It might be a "voice typing" analogue, but i still don't see the point. You need functional/free hands in both cases 🤷♂️

I seriously hope the AI craze ends high-end phones and the customers desire to upgrade. Imagine if they ruin the market with price hikes, so they no longer have anyone to serve their AI features to. They did this to themselves, tech is regressing due to insane greed and companies getting to set the price to anything they want and then they tell anyone who complains to piss off because someone else will pay the price to get the memory and storage. What a dumb timeline for tech.
