Apple priced me out long ago even though I can afford it. I will not pay more that $1499 for a 14" Pro laptop. I don't like the Air and Neo displays I like the P3 color gamut of the Pro's.

I hate the notch, the pill, whatever. I would take a permanent bezel on top like the old macbooks than a permanent discontinuity blemish like a notch, pill or hole. I would also deal with the bezel on top if it also means there can be a face ID setup there too. No face ID yet on a macbook pro is getting ridiculous.

1:06 > the exact moment I realized why 'rounded corners' at the bottom is a bad design choice.
the top is 'cropped' due to notch/dynamic island. It's where the menu bar is. Round corner doesn't 'eat' any content.
It's a naive design choice. Not a good one. dosn't 'resonate' with the full computer – it artificial.
(and the antithesis of what they did just 2 weeks ago with the duo).
now the screen looks like an'ipad' – but can't exist by itself like it. The round corner doesn't talks about the 'shape' of the body, it's a shape by itself, like… the outer display of the google fold.
100% two different teams working on the design, no 'capitain' with understanding.
But still a good machine – I 100% hope that the oled display will 'trickle down' the rest of the pro line-up.

The difference between mini-led and OLED model is 800 ยฃ. Comparing the OLED m5 model to mini-led m6 doesnโt make sense

These PROLED MacBooks are impressive. The displays are too thin to fit FaceID. I like the way they implemented touchscreen, given it will not be a primary interaction method.

Everyone mad about the price. Here's what you get for the money. Let me know if you can find equal specs for cheaper elsewhere:
Best in class OLED, M5 Pro, 24GB Ram, 1TB SSD, lighter, thinner, better speakers, smaller bezels, touch capability, unibody aluminum housing, light up apple logo. That's all for the stock configuration.
This PC can last you 5-10 years depending on your usage. My 2021 M1 Pro hasn't broken a sweat in 4+ years of pretty heavy use, and this is a big leap from that powerhouse. Not sure what else you want it to do. You can still get the Neo or Air if you don't need all of that.
With that money you can buy a car, but also Iโm glad they have finally brought the glowing Apple logo from 2015 yeeeheeeee
if it had something like the fulcrum hinge for easy detaching of the screen, the touch screen would make more sense
