  1. Here are the resources I was telling you about in the beginning of the video:
How I set up the automations in this video: https://smarthomesolver.com/reviews/ultra_seamless_automations/
Spreadsheet for planning (go to File -> Download to save): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i6AB8TedcGMzcyqWEMnMo_GCt_OMJ_9QuKmqcFsUEGA/edit?usp=sharing

  2. Challenge for you: Roommate and I both have our separate Alexa accounts. I want to install the vibration sensors on the laundry machines, but only want those to notify whoever put the laundry in that it's done…and the roommate isn't likely to remember to scan an NFC tag while she's doing laundry.

  3. 8iiiii>-#Skelton lemming jjjipo

  4. I am on google but i might switch to Alexa

  5. Can u use nfc tags with just a alexa dot? Or do u need a hub

  6. Reed, Thanks for the spreadsheet, much appreciated! Do you have any updates on the spreadsheet you use to keep track of automations? I was curious as to how that's worked for you since last year or if you have gone a different way to track all of them.

  7. Use a smartthings arrival sensor on their backpacks

  8. Is there any advantage to trigger your roborock using Alexa vs using the Xiaomi Mi home integration in Home Assistant?

  9. Automation vs human intuition, i struggle with this myself and i live on my own! The smart home needs to work together our intuition and that is the challenge. For example, my car has automatic headlights and wipers, but it does not stop me from wanting to control them myself! As such, i find some automations more annoying than they are useful.

  10. Omg 1:02🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  11. You may have shown this in previous videos, but how are you automating the non-smart lutron motion light switches? Are you using a relay?

  12. Which home assistant is this? I mean app. Google or Apple?

  13. Can you do a video on smart watches integration with home assistant

  14. Suggestion for the Washer/Dryer notification… This is what I do…. I already had a motion sensor in the room to turn the light on and off, but I also use that motion sensor to stop the notifications. When the washer or dryer finishes, immediate notification is sent to Alexa and a specific lamp in the house changes to cyan for washer or yellow for dryer, and a virtual switch is flipped on for the corresponding appliance. If either of the the virtual switches is on, and motion is detected, then it will turn off the virtual switch and the notification lamp. If the virtual switch remains on for 10 minutes, send another announcement to Alexa (I have these announcements set to 10 random phrases… like 'Is anyone there? clothes are still in the %device%' or 'don't blame me, I told you to check the %device%'), and repeat every 10 minutes until the virtual switch is turned off. Also a separate Alexa routine is used for any time that I want to stop the notifications from repeating. Alexa stop laundry, will flip the virtual switches to off and turn off the lamp. Sometimes used when the dryer is in extended tumble mode and and towels are drying.

  15. Add a weight sensor on the kid's bed. If it's triggered, no doorbell until its back to normal for x amount of minutes

  16. 🤣😅😅🤣 0:58 🤣😅😆😅!!!

  17. How did you create your own custom dashboard for multiple and different platform products under one thing??

  18. Home automation mantra : "There's always something…"

  19. These are great ideas, just subscribed, enjoying watching your content

  20. Does the Unifi doorbell work with your Brilliant through HA?

  21. Please do a day in a life to see all of your outomations in action!

  22. When I turn on the Logitech Harmony Elite to watch tv, how do I add a command to tell my Shark robo vacuum to return home/dock?

  23. have you watch homey how easy it is

  24. Thanks for all the great videos. I’m moving into a new home and already planning my automations. I was wondering what brand of motions lights did you utilize?

  25. Really interesting!

  26. Great and helpful video. It would be great if you could make some individual videos covering some routines on Alexa and Smartthings.
