  1. I think it's incovenient to have door bell outside, it can be stolen, damaged, Isn't another way to havethis door camera inside by the window?

  2. Works great Newest.Technology no problems

  3. "They're also making it so you always have three hours of events in the cloud." For now. Google has a track record of offering things like this then later taking them away. For example, buy a Pixel phone and get unlimited photo storage. …until you don't.

  4. did you do a review on the eufy dual-camera doorbell

  5. Is this weather proof? My door bell gets rained and snowed on

  6. Kinda weird some of my cameras and smoke detectors don’t work but others do

  7. does the nest cam pod thingy work well outside in weather conditions such as rain and winter?

  8. All is good except that google might kill support for these at any moment just like it did with nest guard, I ended up with a security system that is overpriced and without any more Nest detects to use in all my doors and windows. It's just bullshit.

New nest camera battery do not work with the nest app.

no technical reviews? did the video quality get better?

I learned that Nest Doorbell (battery) is still battery dependant even if it is wired. The battery can still drain depending on how active it is and the weather. Then you still need to remove it, and charge it. What a huge design flaw. I ended up returning it.

  9. I just bought a hello 2 weeks ago and it was the old style. I guess I was helping them go through their inventory before the new one is available. Too bad for me.

  10. I keep watching ither videos, and NEED to come back to yours! So daily life tailored=easier decision.

  11. Sorry but the old cameras are much better than the new ones and cost the same

  12. I think Nest have gone backwards and I'm a long term Nest user with Thermostat, Smoke Alarms, Hello and Cameras.. The new Doorbell is absolutely massive compared to the old wired Hello and doesn't work in the Nest App! 24hours recording should be the default now.

  13. Unfortunately I just bought the google nest outdoor cam battery version and it only will work in the google home app. It will not work in the nest app for some reason. Seems like a huge oversite.

What would you recommend for an apartment door that has no peephole? Is nest cam good as wireless cam? Also need a bell. Thank you for the vids

  14. Given that nest camera recordings are send to the cops even if no crime happens. im not buying it.

  15. This whole doorbell thing is a joke, says the person that got the ring pro when it came out but I’m looking for reliability local storage with limited cloud support and Ethernet based! I’ve got strong wifi as I’ve got a Apple router three feet from it. But ring is a totally different company to what I bought in at! What can I say Amazon is the new Facebook lol, local storage with my other Ethernet IP cameras.

  16. Is there a wired version on the way? Rather not worry about the battery at all, and maybe harder to remove

Are tv alerts a thing with this?
    Even if it’s just GoogleTV?
My parents only pick up their phones when their TV isn’t working. All other times, they’re watching their TVs, so this is super important

  17. Quick reminder that original nest doorbell (which I own) also promised 3 hours free storage, and after a few years they simply removed without warning. Now you have to pay for ANY recording at all. beware of bait-and-switch

  18. No home storage is a deal breaker for me

  19. Bought the new outdoor battery cam and promptly returned it as it's not compatible with the Nest Cam App. I want to see it on my computer, not on my phone or tablets tiny screen!

  20. I just wish I could have three Nest camera's repaired or replaced! This company is an absolute shit-show.

  21. Google rly needs to make software updates

The biggest issue with this doorbell is that you have to manually charge it even if it's hard wired. This is just dumb.

  22. Netatmo cctv the best camera I have been using 4 in my homes for 3 years now there is nothing on the market better!!! you waste your time advertising this crap

  23. Do you think these will work well if I plan to base my automation around Amazon/Alexa?

  24. In Aus, gronks breaking in just smash that off.useless. puxhing the cloud is crsp. I wont.buy one of these unless there is 1TB of storage and 24hr constant feed and cloud is a nice to have. Just google gobbling up meta data.

  25. It doesn’t have 24/7 recording though

  26. Thanks for your video. I have a question about the Nest Cam with Floodlight. Do you think you could connect it with a regular cord without a separate junction box?

I found out that Google once posted an installation video for the Nest Cam with Floodlight, which isn't available now. This is the description in the video. Does this description tell if it requires a junction box?

“The Nest Cam with Floodlight is designed to replace an existing floodlight with a wired connection of 100 to 240 volts ac, 50 to 60 hertz. Install in accordance with local building and installation regulations. New installations may require additional hardware. You may need to hire a qualified professional to help with installation.”

  27. damn, i just bought the old nest cam on ebay!

  28. If this is a google product, why can't it use googles existing cloud storage. I have 100gb cloud storage that i barely use so using a portion of it for camera storage would make sense.

  29. You do NOT get 3 hours of event footage recording. You get access to clips/events that happened within the last 3 hours. Regardless if there was any events or not within those 3 hours. Any event that happened more than 3 hours ago are lost. Not possible to view who rang your doorbell during your workday without paying for subscription.

  30. Why pay a monthly subscription if you can just add a outdoor camera such like reolink and just call it a day

  31. Yes there great till someone hacks them

  32. Wow so 6 years and they barely made any upgrades to these devices wtf?

  33. So… could someone just snatch your outdoor cam since it's just on a magnetic base??

  34. "Cloud storage" is just another way for them to milk you for money. putting a mem card slot in and local recording would cost buttons, and I'd happily pay a higher initial purchase price for this. If anyone knows of a cam that does this, comment below, thanks.

  35. Just read that all the Google nest products will be obsolete and will no longer be supported- stay away from buying these products- from my research last few days – Ring or Amazon Echo products will.ve the way to go

@Smart Home Solver, I would love to see a comparison between this new Google Nest doorbell camera & the Ring Pro 2 doorbell camera. Seems like thats who Google has taken a shot at with this new Nest doorbell.

  36. The maximum three hour video review time is a deal breaker for me on the new hello.

  37. So interesting to see little difference with the upgraded camera tech. Great vid as always!

  38. Seems like these new cameras are taking a step backwards. No 24 7 monitoring I have to recharge them. If you want to hardwire them or get an anti theft for it it is extra

  39. Why would anyone buy this if people can pop it off and steal it with a flathead screwdriver.

  40. Bought a 2pk of battery outdoor cameras and I was very surprised you cannot use them with the nest app. So my doorbell and indoor cam are on the nest app but if I want to see the new camera's, I have to access them through the Home app. Spent an hour with Google/nest support last night and they confirmed this.

    HUGE disappoinment

  41. The sensors on these are like 1MP vs the older that are 3MP. If your interested id be trying to find the old stuff before you cant get it.
