Love your videos. I’m in the process of building my new home my self. The only thing I’m not too familiar with is the technology but your videos have been a great help. I’m getting into the cat 6 wiring now. The last step before insulation. I’m looking into hardwiring speakers throughout the house. Was wondering if you have ever looked into integrating them into a smart home to not only play music but to also give alerts such as doorbell chime. Or a chime when a door is opened. What are your thoughts on this

Congrats on the house! We just purchased one and will be moving in two weeks. Only devices we currently have are Wifi-enabled and Alexa-compatible LG devices (Fridge, dishwasher, washer, dryer) and a Lockly Vision door lock.
So we probably have to use Alexa for automation (wanted HomeKit initially).
Is there a way to integrate these with HomeKit and Apple Pods?
And what budget alternatives to Lutron Caseta can you recommend (as we have almost 40 switches in the house🙄)

We have those same Honeywell “smart” thermostats in our home (also from Chas Roberts) and was only ever able to get 1 out of 3 to connect to the network. Even Honeywell tech support was no help.
I’m about to build a home in November. I hope to keep everything hardwired as much as possible. Any advice?
Good for using unifi
Have you ever heard of a smart child proof cupboard lock that can be app controlled and grouped. We are grand parents and watch kids 2 days a week. It would be nice to enable “child proofing” when the kids are here and disable it when they leave.
I wish my new house in Maricopa, AZ had fiber… the faster speed available to me is 30 Mbps

Love the house! My wife and I are watching your channel a ton right now. We love your channel and everything we are learning. One thing she just noticed is that the front entry can light in your house isn’t centered to the space. Not trying to point out errors, but with it being a new build and us both in the new home business we want to make sure you check so they fix it for you. Not sure if it’s just the camera angle or not, but love the videos!!!!

Do you have a review on the FYRTUR? Heard that with Alexa, you can only have it fully open/close and not different positions. Does HA provide that flexibility? I'm really looking for a honeycomb option which can open from the top as well as open from the bottom.
