  1. I need to something that's good for use at a coffee shop, hotel… place where I do not have access to the router.

  2. you are in the same floor near the main router, but a device WiFi is connected to the mesh extender in the lower floor?

Does the mesh have this problem? how to make sure you'r connected to the nearest router/extender or particular one of them?

I bought the Tenda A33 AX3000 WiFi 6 Extender for just $69.99 on Amazon, similar products with the same specs will cost around $100.

  3. When using some products under the same company the extender does not show up as a separate network, for example if you connect a TP-Link OneMesh enabled router to a OneMesh extender then it will all operate under one network (show up as one network in wifi settings) and the phone, console, tv etc just uses the one with the best signal, This is different from just renaming the extender and is more effective.

  4. So I have Xfinity Wifi. I just bought the extender. Should I have also bought a router? I figure it would be better then the one they gave

  5. Surely informative, but I closed after one minute due to anoying stupid music

  6. Thanks I appreciate the info!

  7. can we use these wifi extender via ethernet input, where wifi is not in good range?

  8. Does this work for AT&T Fiber?

  9. Thank you so much for this very good information. Happy to like and subscribe!! (Smashed it!)

  10. Can work with other router brands or does it only work with TP-Link?

  11. Hey guru
If i name the original wifi name and the wifi name of the extender the same, will my vpn connection break when I move across the two WiFi?
    Thank you.

  12. GOOD STUFF!! THANK YOU!! I wanna get one now that I understand them!!

  13. If you have a one story floor plan, just get a router the speed double your square footage.

  14. What software/app is that which tests internet speed ?

  15. I may have to upgrade my cheap one outdated one I got from Fry's electronics years ago. Thanks for the suggestions.

  16. Any enterprise network architect will tell you….never, ever use a network extender.

Any chance CNET can do a wireless booster review for those who go camping and need to use the public WiFi?

  17. Since your main router is a Netgear one, I have to mention this amazing extender I personally use: Netgear EX6110.
It is incredibly small, or as we like to say Tiny but Mighty, up to AC1200, can do dual bands, but my recommendation, and the standout feature it has, is this option called Fast Lane, where it basically uses one band to connect to the router, and the other to output to its area, and I get amazing speeds that way, almost as fast as the source router, with little to no dropped connections, and that way I kept the main router broadcasting dual bands for older devices. I have it set up to receive on 2.4 and output 5GHz, as I have a lot of concrete walls and this setup was the best for my home. And it was very affordable, $75 in its highest price, I got it at $50.

  18. I need something that can get through a couple of walls of concrete. I'm renting a set of wifi pods from my provider that is working well, but I pay a monthly fee for it. I'd really like to buy something outright, but I need to find something that's just as powerful.
