I would be wary of using WD–40 to clean the adhesive off your cars paint. I would use alcohol because WD-40 contains mineral spirits which softens paint
Do people really need to spend 2 hours shaping cardboard and another $10 for essential oils rather than spending 1 minute in CVS and $2 on an air freshener? Yikes.

Phone held onto vents with elastics. Cold Canadian winters + full blast heaters = melted elastics = phone crashing down.
The gak I make for cleaning is super cheap and I can get a few uses out of 1 bottle of Elmer's glue (which I buy at the dollar store)- I keep an old hand soap container with liquid detergent under my bathroom sink for hand washing clothing etc –
I just take a small container, put a little glue into it, and put a small pump of detergent. Mix it up and then use it for cleaning blinds in the house, getting dust out of things on the dressers that have a lot of little parts, or cleaning my car. I pay $1 for about 4 or 5 uses from a bottle of glue, and the detergent it's a small pump from something I already have and use for laundry I don't count it (how would I count that? $1 per 100 quarter pumps?).
I used to just purchase the preview made gak for a buck but it seemed like a dollar per clean was a bit much with things like the car, so I swear by my method.
