Might I ask comparing the Xperia 5ii and say the OnePlus 8T or Galaxy S20 FE which one has better performance overall, louder speakers, better Battery life and overall better front & rear camera systems in terms of dynamic range, clearer audio when recording video, more warmer, more natural colours ,wider field of view in selfies (& rear cameras) ,less noise with zooming in and better low light photos?

Their phone is not for everybody, only for those who desire one. Their phone want to improve those who have interest in photo/cinematography. Their phone want those who like music discover high quality audio. Their phone want to boldly do it's own thing, and got it's own style.

Xperia has always had issues,shutter lag, blurry photos, weak port plugs etc. I was a fan with z1s and z2 but same issues back to back

Using xperia xz2 in 2020 as daily driver is still good enough, but this phone got me excited. Only problem is the hefty price tag.
I saw more youtuber that promotes Sony phones better than Sony did. Hopefully there's still hope for Sony fans, hate to see it die. Ive been using Sony for 16 years now.

Just a tip for using side sense:
It's highly customizable. Once you're in side-sense settings you can do quite a few things to improve/personalize its functionality and ease of use.
For starters, you can move the sensing area inside the screen which will make it much easier to engage – it will appear as two sidebars. You can control their transparency, length, and location. Furthermore, you can also adjust the sensitivity of double-tapping and swiping side-sense.
Then, you can customize what each gesture does. Just as an example, on my Xperia 1ii I chose split-screen selection mode when swiping up, taking a screenshot when swiping down, and one-handed mode when double-tapping.
The 4K HDR (10bit) 120fps slow-motion can be found in Cinema Pro.
