We went from a Samsung 46inch LED 1080p tv to this. It was a show model that a store needed to ditch in order to hang the new g2 model. We bought it for €890 with a 2 year warranty. I have to say this was a killer deal. Such a jump in picture quality and an amazing setup, combined with a Sonos surround set and an Xbox series x. Loving it so far. Being delivered with a proper slim wall mount and the gallery design really made this tv a complete package. Absolutely love it so far.
Nothing yet – our central air went out and that made a major dent in our finances…
Does a standard full range wall mount work w the TV?
Pass on it. I’m 4 months in and have a black line on my screen already. I will not buy another LG TV.
We need/want a new TV. Right now, we have a 65" Samsung that is a couple of years old. It is O.K. but, we really don't like the cursor and our interface with DishNetwork. We have just about decided on the LG 65 inch G1. The same size LG G2 is $1,200 more than the G1 on Amazon. We don't think that is worth the additional cost. We mainly watch sports college and professional football as well as movies and TV series. We don't game at all. Do you think that the G1 is our best choice?
Thanks…
This was absolutely a Watershed moment for TVs. It may not be the absolute pinnacle but its Processor and Panel are cutting edge enough. But the real killer thriller is that design – married with the decent tech on show, its close to Modern day perfection you'll get. As long as you're not dripping in gold and can afford the G2 with money being no object lol.
This TV is absolutely not 1/8”, lol. The specs themselves say .83” and, having unboxed it, the specs are correct. If you want to be taken seriously, please buy a measuring tape.
Picture is too dark with some HDR content and the TV sound is Is atrocious. Web OS is also very slow.
Do you still have the feet/stand for the G1??
Can you send me the link for the legs you used for the LG G1
Can you mount it on an arm?
G1 comes with a 5 year panel warranty from LG.
Where can you get the feet for it? Do the feet from the GX work?
Are the feet/legs easy to mount?
Please start mentioning how much worse the LG Web OS is. It really should be considered when buying a new TV. The basic ESPN app and the basic Fox TV apps are not available on Web OS. There are lots of sporting events like top 20 college basketball games that might not appear on normal TV broadcasts in fall because they occur during college football Saturday, etc. That makes sense, but you need espn app if you want to watch them,. The Fox app also offers football games in 4k without upcharges that YouTubeTV wants, etc. This is why TVs with native android TV(like Sony)are superior for at least the OS and compatibility side. For LG you have to try to stream from your phone, and I think stuff like the OS should be mentioned.
I can get a “65 G1 for only $200 more than the C1 right now. Is it worth it upgrade at that price point?
What gets me about hanging it on the wall – won't it get very warm, even become a hot spot on the wall ?
you didn't talk about the NFC functionality on you didn't say anything about the evolution or 2.0 panel where uses less current for more brightness and it doesn't easily burned in
what? you have to buy a stand separately or you can't actually stand it, and have to wall mount it? thats a bit sad from LG
I am so disappointed in the UI for these TV, major step back for LG. Welp, Samsung it is for me then
Got my G1 65” 500.00 off from best-buy w Sonos Arc full surround. I can’t wait till I get it installed. Will be a huge upgrade from prior set up.
You just turned off my lamp.
Just ordered one. Where did you get the TV stand?
What about the ATSC 3.0 Tuner?
I’ll probably get the older lg gallery. Discounted at best buy now.
This unit has some series bright blue vignette around the edges, probably really annoying in certain content.
C1 vs G1
Who wins?
I'd buy one cause i get a discount but i don't want to wall mount it
Can I ask what legs you fitted to the tv?
I don't think the TV is 1/8" from the wall. On their website, the thickest of the TV is 0.9" which is 29/32".
Anybody know where to buy the tv stand ?
1/8th of an inch? you mean 0.8 inches…
Did you test it with HBOMax? Oh wait…you can't!
Just bought an OLED55G16LA. Will be requesting a replacement – the sound over optical drops for half a second every 10 mins or so when watching Freesat. The Panasonic plasma this set replaced work fine over optical for 10yrs without issue.

What tv stand is that?
Any possibility to stick LIFX led tape strip on the back panel without them protruding? They're 8mm wide. Looked to be a 'sloping' edge……TIA
I'm wondering if a Sonos Arc would fit underneath the LG Oled G1 with the feet, or would it block a part of the screen?
How much mm/cm is there between the screen and the surface it stands on?
Thanks in advance!
How do you download new apps on the new webOS ?
What if anything has LG done about screen burn in. I bought the C1 in 2018 with extended warranty thank goodness. had to have the screen replaced about a year after purchasing tv and its needs to be replaced again. Would not recommend LG to anyone unless you have 3000.00 dollars to through away.
It also has the ATSC 3 tuner
Not including the stand in the box feels like cheating to me.
I am not buying an lg tv unless they add nba league pass app
I got mine! Love it! I actually dont have the legs though 🤭
What the heck is a Neo panel? LOL – it’s an Evo panel
Really? You’re testing one of the best TVs on the market with an old TiVo box and the original Xbox one? I saw the Xbox series x pop in there for a moment, but where did it go? I expect more from a technology review site. And can we just all stop saying “Alexa” “ok google” and “hey Siri” in youtube videos!? We get how you do it, you don’t have to say it and then turn off our lamps. Thanks.
What ever they are saying about the prices, Best Buy is selling them $300 cheaper!!
